Sources claim that the actor caught the illness while on vacation with his family. This was confirmed to NBC News by the actor’s agent, who declined to offer any further information.

The news source then said that although the American Gigolo actor had a cough before going to Mexico, it had gotten worse. He went to the hospital since his cough was getting worse, and it was then that pneumonia was found. After spending the night in the hospital under observation, the actor was discharged the next day.

The actor’s 40-year-old wife noticed the unending concern and support from fans and took to social media to put an end to all the allegations. She posted a picture of her and Gere holding hands as they walked with their son, noting in the caption. She captioned the photo, “I woke up this morning and I noticed the news and all your nice and [worried] messages.” He is healing, and today he feels lot better!

Silva had previously posted on social media, detailing the illness that the entire family was experiencing.

She posted a picture of herself and her two children walking towards the seashore and commented, “We are so delighted that the family is doing well now.” Wishing them health and luck is something we can all do together!
