Barry Newman, star of “Vanishing Point” and “The Limey,” passed away at age 92

According to many accounts, Barry Newman, who is best remembered for his part in the classic action film The Vanishing Point, passed away on May 11 in a hospital in New York City.
Elderly was the 92-year-old Emmy-nominated star. There is no other information available concerning his passing.
The still-living Newman’s wife, Angela, verified her husband’s passing. According to Deadline, his buddies also apparently confirmed the news on social media.
Newman, according to Angela, “was a rock for so many people, whose spirit he lifted and allowed to be free.” He truly shone a light for so many people. He was incredibly hilarious and had a great sense of humour that made everyone and everything happier.
The Boston-born actor gained notoriety for his performance as Petrocelli in the 1974 judicial drama. He has been on theatre, movie, and television. After meeting Lee Strasberg while attending Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, he made the decision to pursue acting. After graduating, he pursued acting training in New York City.
Newman went on to star in a number of films after starring in Daylight with Sylvester Stallone in 1996, Bowfinger with Steve Martin in 1999, and The Limey with the late Peter Fonda in the same year.
According to a number of sources, Newman was diagnosed with vocal cord cancer in 2009, which allegedly reduced his performance prospects. His most recent endeavour was the 2022 movie Finding Hannah, which was filmed in 2019.
In the same year, actor Paul Newman discussed how one of director Steven Spielberg’s favourites, 1971’s Vanishing Point, helped him on his initial ascent to fame. Despite the cult film’s initial success in London, where “people lined up around the block to see it,” according to Newman, the movie did not instantly become well-liked in the United States.
