Matthew Perry exposed the truth about Jennifer Anniston prior to his passing

Matthew Perry’s depiction of Chandler Bing in Friends made him incredibly famous and beloved all over the world.

Even though he had enormous success in his career, reading about his personal troubles and life makes for far more depressing material.

The 54-year-old man was discovered unconscious in his Los Angeles home’s jacuzzi over the weekend. Since his passing has been verified, the entertainment industry as a whole has fallen silent.

The actor had been open about his struggles with alcoholism and addiction in recent years. One of the most heartbreaking ironies of Perry’s tragic life story is that, despite his enormous impact on the world—not to mention his most famous TV character—he was compelled to endure such agony.

Perry candidly discussed his battle with addiction in his memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, which was published last year. In the book’s pages, he also disclosed a crucial fact about Jennifer Anniston, her co-star on Friends.

Although Matthew Perry, 54, is best known for his sardonic humour in the Friends character of Chandler Bing, he actually began his career in the 1987 television series Second Chances and its follow-up, Boys will be Boys.

The late River Phoenix co-stars with the actor in the 1988 film A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon, which marks the actor’s cinematic debut. The actor was born in 1969 to an American father and Canadian mother.

After that, he made guest roles in several TV series, including Beverly Hills, 90210, and Growing Pains, Sydney, starring Valerie Bertinelli.

His major break came from playing the sardonic Chandler on Friends, where he appeared for ten seasons between 1994 and 2004.

Over the course of his decades-long career, he has starred in several films, including the 1997 romantic comedy Fools Rush In starring Salma Hayek and The Whole Nine Yards and its sequel, The Whole Ten Yards, starring Bruce Willis in 2000 and 2004.

Perry had a lengthy history of drug and alcohol problems and had attended treatment 15 times. He was single and childless.

When he was originally cast in Friends, he was 24 years old, and that is when his poisonous addiction with alcohol began.

Kind of, I could manage it. However, I was deeply involved in a lot of trouble by the time I was 34,” Perry acknowledged. However, I did spend some years sober throughout that period. A gastrointestinal perforation in 2018 nearly claimed his life (when a hole develops in an organ). He claimed to have been in and out of the hospital for five months, two weeks in a coma, and nine months with a colostomy bag.

He expressed his gratitude for being alive in an interview with People at the time. “My family was informed by the doctors that my chances of survival were only two percent,” said Perry. “I was placed on an ECMO machine, which does all of your heart and lung breathing. That is referred to be a Hail Mary. Nobody makes it out of it.

Speaking kindly of the help he received from his pals from the popular show in which he featured, Perry revealed that he attempted to conceal his addiction even though his outward look demonstrated his sobriety and periods of struggle with addiction.

His fellow actors “were understanding, and they were patient,” he recalled.
