Melania Trump has come under fire for her new jewellery line and for “profiting off dead veterans.
Given that her husband, Donald Trump, is spending a lot of time in the criminal courts in New York, Melania Trump finds herself in a difficult situation. The former president is managing his presidential campaign in addition to his “hush money” trial.
Melania has not been spotted by her husband’s side, despite reports that she supports his bid for a second term as president. An expert believes that the fact that the former first lady has not been spotted in the courtroom standing by her husband bears important implications.
Melania Trump has a lot of free time now that her son Barron has graduated from high school. She posted a re-post of a pair of necklaces from USA Memoribilia’s Fortitude Collection on her Instagram story on Thursday. But it didn’t take long for her to face fury on social media as many accused her of “profiting” off the deaths of veterans.
When Stormy Daniels’ hush money payment and other charges against Donald Trump became public in 2018, the Trump Administration was shocked. Despite the president’s claims of innocence, Melania Trump continued to make her own decisions. In addition to handling their responsibilities in Washington, Donald Trump’s past also caught up with him. A recent book claims that Melania intended to fully capitalise on the situation by making her husband look bad.
In response, political analyst John Fund said, “Well, Melania hates politics, and I think she’s probably justified in not having a very favourable opinion of Washington DC and now, of course, the American judicial system after two campaigns, half of a third [campaign], and four years in the White House.” He continued, “So she’s a supportive spouse, but I think the last thing she wants is to create more media attention by showing up to the trial or by making some obvious public gesture of support.”
Former model Melania Trump has a keen interest in style. She has already published her line of jewellery, and last Thursday she used a pair of necklaces to promote USA Memoribilia’s Fortitude Collection. Additionally, the former first lady has previously made sales of Christmas ornaments via the website.
According to the USA Memorabilia website, “The Fortitude Collection celebrates our service members, our Nation, and our freedom.” Additionally, each design “may be engraved with names, initials, significant dates, and symbols to create a one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery,” according to the website.
USA Memorabilia states that “those who purchase a design can also receive a limited-edition digital collectible.”
On her Instagram feed, Melania Trump reshared a video that promoted the jewellery. While a number of individuals praised Melania Trump for her efforts to “raise money for the armed services” and called her “beautiful,” she also encountered a significant amount of criticism.
Many irate Instagram users accused Melania of taking advantage of veterans in their comments. “Grifter, zero Trumps have served in the US military,” one commenter said.
“Very inexpensive products sold at exorbitant costs to individuals who have to choose between food, medication, or trinkets offered by a billionaire who will never see them in any other situation,” another person said. “Disgusting, and sh*t off of our dead veterans.” Not a single penny will be donated to any real causes.
A third said, “You guys would take the most of the money if it did.” Melania Trump revealed her Mother’s Day jewellery a month ago. Each necklace cost $245. A description of the necklace read, “customisable necklace designed by Melania Trump to honour all mothers.” Each necklace bore the former first lady’s signature. Reports about the number of units she has sold to date are nonexistent.
