We are so sorry for Meghan Markle and her family’s terrible loss

MEGHAN Markle dedicated a new wing of a London animal charity and paid tribute to her “beloved” dog trainer friend Oli Juste. To commemorate the naming of a new rescue wing in the animal behaviorist’s honour, Meghan recorded a heartfelt video tribute.

Guests at the Oli Juste Wing’s launch on Wednesday at Mayhew’s centre in north London, including actors Nigel Harman, Rula Lenska, Beatie Edney, and Laura Aikman, heard the Duchess of Sussex recording.

The new, renovated kennels were made possible by a “generous” donation provided by his “dear friend,” Meghan, through her Archewell Foundation.

Mayhew claimed that Oli passed away unexpectedly in January 2022. “A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful team at Mayhew who have worked tirelessly to bring this dream to life,” the duchess wrote in her statement. “It was crucial to figure out how to honour Oli’s memory in a way that he would have enjoyed.

“Mayhew is a shining example of what can be accomplished when we work together and a beacon of hope for those in need.”

The duchess’ friendship with Oli was described in a statement on Meghan’s sussex.com website, which read: “They shared many things throughout their friendship, among which was a deep commitment to animal welfare and a love of rescue dogs.”

The statement said, “The Oli Juste Wing will improve the lives of countless animals and serve as a reminder to all of us of the power of compassion, connection, and care. It is a testament to his unwavering love and commitment to our furry friends.” Over the years, the duchess has taken in other rescue dogs, such as Guy, a beagle, and Pula, a black Labrador.

Guy was being cared for by Oli and his fiancĂ© Rob while Meghan was in the UK and the dog was healing from an accident. Meghan expressed her grief for Oli’s death in her letter.
