Maureen McCormick met her future husband at church, and she attributes their 37-year marriage to “our faith.

Finding your love used to entail going out into the actual world, but that was not too long ago. These days, most people meet their significant other through dating apps. Yes, in order to pursue their one true love, even celebrities have to put in a lot of work. Maureen McCormick, 67, won her future husband over in church after she initially noticed him at a concert.

For her role as Marcia on The Brady Bunch from 1969 to 1974, Maureen McCormick is most recognised. McCormick, who was born on August 5, 1956, starred in multiple Brady Bunch spin-offs after the sitcom concluded.

Despite her popularity on the sitcom, she had the biggest difficulties in her personal life in the years following The Brady Bunch’s finale. McCormick’s battles with drug addiction, depressive episodes, and bulimia damaged her reputation as an actress.

In 2016, she said to People, “I’ve been through a lot of hard times, but I take all those experiences and learn and grow from them.” “I went into and out of rehab, got treatment in a psych ward, and prayed to God for direction.”

The former child actor met a man at a performance who she knew would become her husband as she was battling a cocaine addiction and trying to accept that her ideal acting career was not working out.

According to McCormick’s autobiography, Here’s the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Discovering My True Voice, she “turned around and saw this guy behind me.” “I had never seen him in my life. He had chiselled features, a superb frame, and dark hair. “This is the man I’m going to marry,” I thought as I gazed directly into his eyes.

After starting work, McCormick joined Cummings at their Bible study. She sat next to him at church, too. The former Brady was curious about every detail surrounding Cummings. And it was successful! They eventually went on a first date after spending more time together, and the rest is history. She was really open and truthful with me right away.

She has never been anything but upfront and honest with me. Additionally, Cummings told Daily Mail in 2015, “I never worried about her going back to her old behaviour because I figured, whatever comes up, we will just deal with it.”

Even while McCormick called their romance “quick and passionate,” things weren’t always easy. McCormick was continuously pushing Cummings away as she struggled with her drug addiction and sobriety. However, he never went. In her 2008 book, she stated, “Michael said that he’d made a life-long commitment and decided he was going to work at it until it’s unworkable.” “He believed that being a child celebrity had stopped my growth, and he was mostly correct.”

The couple, who had a kid in 1989, will commemorate their 37th wedding anniversary on March 16th, despite all the highs and lows.

McCormick added, “I know there’s one reason Michael and I were able to stick together through all the heavy-duty ups and downs: our faith.” “Despite all of our issues, we both believed that our love was genuine, strong, long-lasting, and deserving of being cherished. We felt that our love was genuine because of our faith.
