A plane crash in the Caribbean claimed the lives of US actor Christian Oliver and his two daughters
According to St. Vincent and the Grenadines authorities, Christian Oliver, the actor behind the films Speed Racer and The Good German, and his two daughters perished in a Caribbean plane crash.
The plane was travelling towards neighbouring St. Lucia when it crashed on Thursday, the authorities added, just west of Petit Nevis island near Bequia. Their aircraft, a single-engine aircraft, is said to have experienced technical difficulties early in the flight before crashing into the lake.
Local fishermen, coast guard personnel, and divers hurried to the location to help, according to a statement from the Royal SVG Police Force. Eventually, the bodies of Oliver, his kids, Madita, 10, and Annik, 12, as well as the pilot and owner of the aircraft, Robert Sachs from Bequia, could be recovered by military officials.
The actor had just wrapped up filming his final sequences for the upcoming film Forever Hold Your Peace, according to Deadline. On Thursday night, filmmaker Nick Lyon shared a picture of Oliver and himself on Instagram.
Lyon added, “We talked about producing a film together for years and finally did it.” He also mentioned that he and the deceased actor collaborated on five other projects over the years. “I appreciate you being such a wonderful friend, actor, and coworker.”
Lyon went on to call Oliver “such a beautiful person and a brave actor.” “The deep bond, infectious laughter, and adventurous spirit shared by Madita and Annik will be profoundly missed in their communities,” among other things, was stated in a statement released by Oliver’s ex-wife, who is also the mother of their girls. Oliver’s daughters and family are in our thoughts and prayers. I hope they are at peace.
