Goldie Hawn confessed that the glitter and glamour of L.A. simply do not appeal to her anymore, after the two awful occurrences she and her family have suffered through in their own home.
As the crime rate in Los Angeles escalates, even Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell’s homes have been targeted. The veteran actress joined on Kelly Ripa’s ‘Let’s Talk Off Camera’ podcast and disclosed her plans to leave the city, particularly after she and her family experienced two break-ins in a short amount of time.
She revealed that she and her longterm partner, Kurt Russell, had been thinking about where they could move. They stated that Palm Desert is a pleasant region, and that it is safer than Los Angeles, which they now believe to be “terrible.” Hawn described two break-ins that she and her family had experienced. In both incidents, she stated that the burglars attempted to get access to her property, with one pair of robbers successfully entering and searching through their rooms.
She revealed the full scope of the crime, stating, “They completely knocked down my door, which is a safe door, so they’re very, very sophisticated, and they got a lot of my goodies, if you know what I mean.”
When the couple tried to move on from the experience, they were robbed again only four months later. The entire event spurred her into action, as she realised that L.A. might not be the best place for her. The experience shook her up so much that she now keeps her guard up at all times, unable to relax. Goldie Hawn’s home isn’t the only one targeted by burglars. In 2024, several high-profile individuals, including King Bach, Corinna Kopf, Farrah Aldjufrie, and Patrick Patterson, were reported to be the targets of crimes.
