Dead icon We mournfully announce the passing of Roberto Cavalli

According to the Italian news agency ANSA, renowned Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli, who was well-known for his ostentatious looks, passed yesterday at the age of 83 at his Florence residence after a protracted illness that had lately become worse.

Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift, Brigitte Bardot, and Sophia Loren were among the celebrities who admired his work. He was pictured in 2010 with Jennifer Lopez, who at the World Music Awards attracted attention in one of his leopard-print gowns.

The luxury apparel, handbag, shoe, and fragrance brand of the designer shared their condolences on Instagram while honouring Cavalli’s enduring inspiration. The company’s message said, “Today we say our final goodbyes to our founder Roberto Cavalli with great sadness.”

Since October 2020, Fausto Puglisi has served as creative director. He expressed his sincere admiration and sadness while stressing Cavalli’s lasting influence on fashion.

He posted on social media, saying, “Dear Roberto, you may not be physically here with us anymore but I know I will feel your spirit with me always.” “Your name will live on, serving as an inspiration to others and myself in particular.”

The world has been inundated with tributes. While former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham referred to Cavalli as a “icon” and shared a moving photo on her Instagram stories, Brazilian model Adriana Lima dubbed him a “legend.” Additionally, Dario Nardella, the mayor of Florence, gave tribute, recognising Cavalli’s significant contributions to Italian fashion as well as his close ties to the city.

Cavalli’s fashion statements were striking and unforgettable due to his inventive use of vivid colours, patchwork techniques, and animal designs, along with his trademark tinted glasses and cigar.

Cavalli’s influence on fashion has never been surpassed, from his pioneering work with leather and denim to his widespread recognition for his upscale denim.
