After going missing with their father, three sisters were discovered dead at a campsite

Olivia Decker, age five, Paityn, age nine, and Evelyn, age eight, disappeared during what should have been a normal visit with their father, Travis. Police now think he killed them after they were discovered dead at a campsite in Washington a few days later. Three little sisters, Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia Decker, 5, were discovered dead close to the isolated Rock Island campground in Wenatchee, some three hours east of Seattle, in a tragic incident that has shocked Washington State and drawn global attention.

The girls had been traveling to the area with their father, who is currently wanted in connection with their killings, but the trip turned into a nightmare, according to the Wenatchee Police Department.

Police have warned the public not to approach the father, 32-year-old Travis Decker, who is still at large. Decker, a military veteran with significant combat training and severe mental health issues, is suspected by authorities of suffocating his daughters during a brief, court-approved visit.

After Decker picked them up for a three-hour visitation on Friday night, the girls disappeared. At first, their mother, Whitney, had not found this normal interaction concerning. However, worry struck after 9:45 p.m. passed without them returning and Decker’s phone went straight to voicemail.

Whitney told local station KIRO 7 that she didn’t believe he was harmful. “He loved them, but his mental health can be difficult at times.” However, the picture presented by court records was more troubling. In addition to allegedly not taking his prescribed medicine and refusing to sign a parenting plan that called for therapy and anger management, Decker was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder.

Whitney had previously voiced serious concerns in custody files, stating that during visits, the girls had slept in armories, tents, and even Decker’s van, occasionally alone and with strangers. One particularly upsetting incident was their daughter Olivia calling her in tears because she couldn’t find her father.

Evelyn once returned home with mysterious welts between her legs. “I’ve gone above and beyond to help them maintain their relationship,” Whitney stated in court filings. “However, I cannot allow our girls to live in a shelter for the homeless or worse.”

Around 3:45 p.m. on Monday, authorities located Decker’s truck close to Rock Island Campground, following a stressful weekend filled with increasingly desperate searches. The bodies of Paityn, Evelyn, and Olivia were discovered by authorities nearby, within 75 to 100 yards of the car. Every female wore zip ties over her wrists and a plastic sack over her head. There were two bloody handprints on Decker’s truck’s tailgate.

There were eerie traces of what ought to have been a family vacation inside: food, blankets, car seats, even Decker’s wallet. Although there was no sign of Decker, there was indications of recent camping activity, including a tent and cooler close by.

Decker is currently facing three charges of first-degree kidnapping and aggravated first-degree murder from Chelan County authorities. He is being imprisoned without bail after a court issued an arrest warrant. During a press conference on Tuesday, Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison stated, “We do not have any leads that specifically indicate where he is at.” “There is nothing off the table.”

Decker is now the target of a multi-agency manhunt that includes Homeland Security, the FBI, U.S. Marshals, and local law enforcement. The untamed nature of Icicle Road, a well-liked hiking and climbing destination in the Cascade Mountains, is currently being searched by drones.

During the briefing, Morrison addressed the fugitive directly, saying, “Travis, if you’re listening, this is your chance to turn yourself in.” Act morally. Accept responsibility for your actions. We will not take a break.

More than 300 people attended a vigil in Wenatchee’s Memorial Park on Tuesday night in remembrance of the three girls. While music played softly in the background, children blew bubbles into the air.

A youngster named Grace wrote, “I am so sorry,” on one of the marker-written letters that were taped to folding tables, according to the Seattle Times. Nobody is worthy of what happened to you. Prayers were said by Pastor Mike Wilson for the family, the investigators, and a mother who now has a huge hole where three brilliant lights used to be.

According to a GoFundMe page for Whitney, “These girls were true light in this world.” “And without them, it is a darker place.” With thousands of notes of love, heartache, and anger flooding in from all over the nation, the campaign had already surpassed $350,000 by Tuesday night.

Travis Decker, who is described as 5’8″, 190 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair in a ponytail, is still unaccounted for as of Wednesday morning. According to authorities, he frequently sleeps in motels or campers and does not have a fixed domicile. When last seen, he was dressed in dark shorts and a light-colored top.

The public is still being urged by law enforcement to report any sightings or information to the authorities right away rather than approaching him. The tale of Paityn, Evelyn, and Olivia serves as a harsh reminder of what may happen when warning signs are ignored in a world all too acquainted with the headlines of domestic tragedies. It also highlights a mother’s relentless efforts to keep her children safe. A voice spoke softly as candles flickered in the Wenatchee twilight.

This is devastating. How could these lovely angels have been harmed by their own father? It can be difficult to understand how cruel and unfair the world can be at times. The sadness caused by a tragedy such as this cannot be adequately expressed in words. Sweet tiny souls, rest in peace. 💔
