Trump Urges Iran to Release 8 Women Facing Execution for Positive Start to Negotiations
US President Donald Trump has directly urged Iran to free eight women who are reportedly about to be executed calling it a smart way to get their upcoming talks off to a positive start.
He posted the message on Truth Social addressing the Iranian leaders who will soon sit down with his representatives. Trump said he would really appreciate it if they released the women and added that he felt sure everyone would respect such a decision. He went on to plead with them not to harm the women in any way noting that it would make for a great beginning to the negotiations.

The request follows Trumps recent warning that the United States is ready to go the military route if things do not improve. At the moment talks aimed at securing a ceasefire between the two countries in Pakistan are still up in the air.
Regional officials say another round of discussions could happen in Islamabad soon but neither Washington nor Tehran has confirmed the plans officially. Iranian state media has gone further and denied that any delegation is already in the Pakistani capital.

In a CNBC interview Trump made it clear he is against extending the current two week truce. He pointed out that time is short and stressed that Iran has been given a choice so it must come to the negotiating table without delay.
