Kelly Osbourne Slams Cruel Online Comments After Her BRIT Awards Appearance Sparks Concern
Kelly Osbourne stepped onto the red carpet at the 2026 BRIT Awards in Manchester alongside her mother Sharon, and the photos that followed set off a wave of online chatter. The 41-year-old looked noticeably slimmer that night as the pair accepted a lifetime achievement honor for her late father, Ozzy Osbourne. Within hours the images had spread far and wide, and plenty of people online began weighing in with worry and sharp opinions about how thin she appeared.
Some called it a serious cry for help and said someone needed to step in. Others described the look as scary thin and insisted there was a difference between body shaming and genuine concern. The comments piled up quickly, with many linking the change in her appearance to the kind of rapid weight loss sometimes associated with certain medications.

Kelly did not stay quiet. She posted directly on her Instagram Stories and made it clear how she felt about the pile-on. She described a special kind of cruelty in going after someone who is obviously struggling, and she called out the way people were kicking her while she was down, turning her pain into gossip, and offering judgment instead of support.
She wrote that none of it showed strength, only a lack of compassion and character. She added that she is going through the hardest time in her life right now and should not have to defend herself, but she refused to let herself be dehumanized.
Kelly has been open in the past about how the loss of her father has affected her. Ozzy passed away in July 2025 at age 76 after suffering cardiac arrest, with coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s also listed as factors. She has said her life feels completely flipped upside down, that she has not been able to eat properly, and that simply getting out of bed each day and trying to keep going should be enough during a time like this. She has also pushed back against speculation about her health and has denied using weight-loss medications.
Her mother Sharon has backed her publicly, saying Kelly is not happy because she lost her daddy and cannot eat right now. Sharon has faced her own share of comments about her thinner appearance in recent years. She has spoken before about trying GLP-1 weight-loss medication, how easy it became to lose too much, and why she stopped and now warns others about the risks of becoming addicted to that kind of rapid change.

Kelly, who shares a three-year-old son named Sid with her fiancé Sid Wilson, has never been shy about calling out mean comments online, especially when they come from other women.
In the days leading up to the awards she had already responded to one particularly harsh remark that compared her to a dead body, saying she could not believe how disgusting some people can be and that no one deserves that kind of abuse.

The BRIT Awards moment was meant to celebrate Ozzy’s legacy, with the family coming together months after his death to accept the honor on his behalf. Instead it became another chapter in the ongoing public conversation about grief, loss, and how people react to someone else’s changing body during a painful time.
