“The house is fairly modern, built in 2000, but we don’t know if there were any issues with gas leaks or if there were any recent service calls to the property,” Elizabeth said in an interview with TMZ. Hackman and Arakawa were discovered in different rooms, according to fresh information that has surfaced as detectives begin to piece together what transpired in the house. The Associated Press reports that Hackman’s wife was in a bathroom near a space heater when his body was discovered in a mudroom.

The Associated Press reports that Hackman’s wife was in a bathroom near a space heater when his body was discovered in a mudroom. The update, which was provided in a search warrant from the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office, also described how medications and an open prescription bottle were strewn around the bathroom counter.

A representative for the sheriff’s office, Denise Avila, said that neither Hackman nor Arakawa had any wounds, including those from a gunshot. Although the bodies were partially mummified, according to MailOnline, the length of time the pair had been dead had not been revealed at the time of writing.

In her interview yesterday, Elizabeth, Hackman’s daughter, described her father’s quiet retirement despite the devastating loss. After his retirement in 2004, Gene and Betsy had made New Mexico their home, where Gene painted quietly. Elizabeth disclosed that The French Connection, which helped establish her father as one of Hollywood’s best actors, was his favorite film.

Over the course of his career, the actor appeared in more than 70 films. Hackman revealed in 2009 that a stress test that worried his doctors was the cause of his decision to move away from the glamor of Hollywood.

He told Empire, “A stress test I took in New York was actually the straw that broke the camel’s back.” “The doctor told me that I shouldn’t be putting any stress on my heart because it wasn’t in the right condition.” The cause of the deaths is still being investigated.
