Actor Jeff Bridges shares love story of 45-year marriage to longtime wife Susan Geston
Actor Jeff Bridges talks about how he and his wife Susan Geston have been together for 45 years and how much they love each other.
As we hear about the latest Hollywood couple who split up, it’s always nice to hear about a couple who has been together for a long time.
There is a movie legend named Jeff Bridges who is now 72.
The actor is very rare in Hollywood. She married him back in 1977. He has always been loyal to her.
After 45 years together, Jeff Bridges says that his marriage is getting better.
For a long time, Bridges has been one of the best movie stars in Hollywood. In the 1970s, he had a big break. He got Oscar nominations for his roles in The Last Picture Show and Thunderbolt and Lightfoot with Clint Eastwood.
They met in 1975 while filming Rancho Deluxe in the western comedy genre. As a waitress, Susan worked at a ranch in Chico Hot Spring, where a hot bath scene was filmed by the film crew.
During a shoot at Chico Hot Springs, I saw this girl. I couldn’t look away from her. Aside from the fact that she was beautiful, she also had two black eyes and a nose that had been broken (from a car accident, I later learned). Jeff Bridges wrote in 2014: “Something about her beauty and scars kept me interested.”
But it would be a long time before Jeff could win Susan’s heart. One time after work, Jeff asked the pretty waitress out. She said no.
When he asked a few days after that, he got the same answer. “It’s a small town, so maybe we’ll run into each other again.”
In the end, they met up on a night off from work.
After a night of dancing, the two hit it off. It wasn’t long before the waitress packed up her things and moved to California with Bridges.
Geston wanted to get married, but Bridges didn’t want to make such a big deal out of it. They dated for a while.
He told Bridges that if he didn’t marry her, she was going to go her own way. It was clear to Bridges that he would always be sorry for the decision to let his love go.
Oh God! I can’t let this woman go! Jeff told OWN. “I had a vision of an old man wondering why he didn’t marry a girl from Montana, man. She was so pretty.”
