After 260 days in the shelter, the dog loses hope and “cries endlessly,” hoping to find the ideal new home

A dog might suffer greatly from spending a prolonged amount of time in a shelter. After months of rejection, many shelters witness dogs who were once joyful and full of hope lose their spirits.

Major, an Indiana shelter dog, is one example of this; he has been crying nonstop for more than 260 days after his former owners rejected him. However, his pals at the shelter continue to hope that he will find the ideal family someday. Major, a four-year-old mixed terrier and pitbull, is under the care of Hamilton County Humane Society in Indiana.

Since then, Major has been staying in the shelter. The Humane Society claims that Major was initially in a good mood despite his devastating rejection and that he was a “sweet and sensitive” dog who loved to play and his Jolly Ball. Major is described as a “true companion with a big heart.” He was referred to by the staff as a gorgeous boy and given the nicknames “Major hunk” and “Major heartthrob.” Unfortunately, not everyone was impressed by Major’s positive traits; as the months passed, adopters continued to pass Major by.

The staff at the shelter reports that Major’s positive attitude has worsened due to his repeated rejection. According to the humane society, “his spunky personality is dimming” on Facebook. “This once-jovial boy who loved balls now sits in his room and sobs nonstop.”

He is now in the visiting room at the shelter instead of the kennels, which they claim are stressing him out. However, they are aware that finding Major a permanent home as quickly as possible is the only viable option. Major would thrive in a household without little children or felines.

It is recommended to have a meet and greet with him since he gets along well with other dogs but is not always aware of his own power. Major may not fit well with every household, but there must be someone out there who would be the ideal home for this kind and energetic dog. Major’s adoption website says, “If you’re ready to welcome a loving, strong, and playful friend into your life, this is the one for you.”

Major has been in the shelter for a long time, and it’s awful to see him so depressed and lost. We really hope he gets a new home soon! To help us spread the word about this gorgeous puppy, please share this article! ❤️
