George Clooney continues to be in awe of his wife Amal Clooney, the mysterious and attractive woman who won his heart and ended his status as a bachelor, despite furious criticism from admirers.
Everyone has realised, I believe, that my wife is somewhat magical as they get to know her, hear her voice, and learn what she stands for. In 2022, the savvy Clooney made this statement to Entertainment Tonight. “She simply has no drawbacks.”
George Clooney is well-known for playing a variety of roles in both television and movies. The Hollywood hottie may be remembered by some as a young handyman in the well-known sitcom The Facts of Life, which ran from 1979 to 1988. In more recent years, he has appeared as a leading man in films including Ticket to Paradise, Ocean’s Eleven, and O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2022).
He scored his biggest job as a life partner when he met the lovely Lebanese-British human rights attorney then known as Amal Alamuddin in 2013.
After just six months of dating, the couple’s epic love tale continued in 2014 with a proposal.
She literally had it dropped on her, and Clooney, 61, recalled, “She just kept exclaiming, ‘Oh, my God,’ and ‘Wow!'” We just sat there until I said, “Hey, I’m 52 and I’ve been on my knee for about 28 minutes, so I have to get an answer out of this or I’m going to throw out a hip,” which prompted a pause. I might not be able to get back to my feet!”
The couple wed in September 2014 at Venice, Italy’s opulent Aman Canal Grande hotel, in front of a star-studded audience that included Bono, Matt Damon, and Bill Murray.
Amal was thrust into the spotlight the moment she began dating Clooney, making her open to the unrestrained criticism of online trolls.
Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, and Yulia Tymoshenko, the former prime minister of Ukraine who supported her nation’s enlargement into the European Union, are among Amal’s many well-known clients. Amal is now 45 years old. She also spoke on behalf of the UN in 2019.
Social media users disparage the model, calling her “ugly” and a “gawky gargoyle,” ignoring her accomplishments in favour of her appearance and physique.
In January 2015, a Twitter user remarked, “I am absolutely perplexed at the fact that when George Clooney finally decides to settle down, he picks Amal Clooney, who looks like an unattractive man.”

And in one instance, a prominent news organisation simply disregarded Amal’s unique accomplishments.
The Associated Press came under fire in 2015 for referring to Amal as a “actor’s wife” at the time that she was defending Egyptian-Canadian journalist Mohamed Fahmy.

As a result of backlash, AP changed the Tweet to read, “Human rights attorney Amal Clooney condemns prison sentences imposed on three Al-Jazeera English journalists.”
Amal politely responded on BBC through Entertainment Tonight, “There’s not much I can control it but to keep going. It’s encouraging that people call out journalism that concentrates on the wrong problems because it demonstrates that they have higher expectations for the media.
Amal was honoured by Time in a cover story titled “Women of the Year, 12 Leaders Toward a More Fair World” in March 2022. One of her clients, Maria Ressa, a Filipino-American writer and Nobel Peace laureate, wrote the article. In the piece Amal Clooney Won’t Back Down, Amal discusses her rising notoriety and scepticism, saying:
“I believe that all I can do to raise my public image is to strive to draw attention to what matters. Certain clients may profit from that. There isn’t much I can do if I’m at a work event and the reporting on it concentrates on unimportant concerns. Since I have no influence over it, I’ve decided to just move on with my life and work in the hopes that attitudes will change.
But, Amal’s devoted husband is smitten with her and his unceasing adoration for her melts my heart.
She’s gorgeous and has a terrific sense of style; there’s no stylist or anything; she simply walks out like that and shows up and she looks stunning, he exclaimed. And she accomplishes this while simultaneously working on 11 cases. She is a remarkable woman.
The lovely couple and their 2017 twins, Alexander and Ella, spend a lot of time at their waterfront Villa Oleandra in Lake Como, where they initially met in 2013.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter from 2017, Clooney said, “I just feel lucky every single day of my life. “Fortunate in my career. I’m fortunate to have discovered the ideal spouse. Sometimes in life you meet the person you were meant to be with even though it doesn’t happen according to plan. That’s how I feel, and I know Amal feels the same way.
