Camilla, the Queen Consort, has stated that she is “too elderly” to go horseback riding
Camilla, Queen Consort, like the rest of the Royal Family, has several pastimes that she is enthusiastic about. Following Queen Elizabeth’s death, she took over responsibility for the royal stables and is said to find comfort in her Highgrove House garden.
Camilla’s favourite hobby, however, is now unfortunately beyond her capabilities as she approaches the age of 76. The Queen Consort’s love of horses will never wane, but she is said to have rode one for the last time.
King Charles and Camilla’s coronation is now less than a month away. Preparations for the historic event have been ongoing for months, and plans for the historic event were revealed a few weeks ago. They featured information on the roles that Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis will play, as well as other components of the day’s itinerary.
Naturally, how the Coronation will play out remains to be seen.
There has been much conjecture about whether or not Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will attend, and there has also been much speculation about Camilla’s dress, particularly her crown.
Buckingham Palace confirmed in February that Camilla would be crowned with Queen Mary’s Crown on May 6. It is set with 2,200 diamonds and was worn by Queen Mary in 1911 at the coronation of her husband, King George V.
The crown will be redesigned for the impending coronation to honour the late Queen Elizabeth, with diamonds Cullinan III, IV, and V from the late monarch’s personal jewellery collection replacing the headpiece. According to People, Queen Elizabeth frequently wore them as brooches.
Before, whenever a Queen Consort was to be crowned, a new crown was commissioned. In fact, this will be the first time in recent history that an existing crown will be utilised, with the Palace citing “sustainability and efficiency.”
Camilla met a group of youngsters when the three-day journey came to a conclusion in Hamburg. According to the Daily Mail, the Queen Consort told them that due to her age, she has had to give up her cherished horse riding hobby.
“I used to have horses that I rode, but I no longer do.” “I think I’m too old, but I have racehorses,” she told the news source.
Camilla’s enthusiasm in horseback riding isn’t going away just because she can’t ride anymore. Not at all. Camilla kept in touch with her stables during her vacation to Germany, according to the Daily Mail. She even saw a birthing video of one of her horses!
“Last night, I observed one of the foals being born on my screen, which was quite amazing,” Camilla remarked.
