Ivana Trump dead at 73 – details
Ivana Trump was born Ivana Marie Zelnickova on February 20, 1949, in Gottwaldov (now the city of Zlin), Czechoslovakia (now the country Czech Republic).
She was good in ski and swimming as her father, Milos took it on himself to train her. Her father was strict and wanted perfection so he tried raising them to live up to his values.
Ivana Trump said, “When I was doing poorly at school, my father yanked me out and got me a job in a shoe factory. After three weeks I begged him to give me another chance at doing well in school. I learned that discipline is necessary to accomplish anything in life.”
Ivana got married for the first time to Austrian skier Alfred Winklmayr in 1971 but their marriage ended two years later.
She met Donald Trump in 1976 during a fashion show in New York.
While waiting for a table at the fancy restaurant, she felt a tap on the shoulder.
“There’s this tall blond guy with blue eyes. He said, ‘I’m Donald Trump and I see you’re looking for a table. I can help you,’” IvanaTrump recalled in a NY Post interview.
They started dating soon after and tied the knot in 1977. They stayed married for 14 years and welcomed three children together, Donald Trump Jr, 1977, followed by daughter Ivanka (1981) and son Eric (1984).
Donald Trump announced the passing of his ex-wife and the mother of his three oldest children on the social medial platform Truth Social.
Trump said, “I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City.”
The family statement read, “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ivana Trump. She fled from communism and embraced this country. She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion, and determination. She will be dearly missed by her mother, her three children, and ten grandchildren.”
The fire department recently revealed new details surrounding her death.
At about 12.40 a statement revealed that police received a 911 call about an “aided individual.”
As reported by Reuters, The Fire Department of New York said paramedics responded to a call to her apartment for a cardiac arrest.
They met her unconscious and unresponsive and the New York Police Department said on Thursday, that there did not “appear to be any criminality” related to Ivana’s death.
May her soul rest in peace.
