Kate Middleton and Her Children Reportedly Upset Over Prince William’s Recent Decision
Before publicly revealing her cancer diagnosis, Kate Middleton and the Palace faced numerous rumors and conspiracy theories. Kate chose to remain silent until she felt it was the right moment to speak, reportedly waiting until her children’s school had closed to protect them from immediate scrutiny. She also sought to shield her husband, Prince William.
Author Alexander Larman told GB News that the fascination with Kate’s health highlights the public’s deep interest in the royal family.

He noted a difference in approach between Buckingham Palace, which promptly addressed King Charles’ illness, and Kensington Palace, which remained reserved—likely due to Prince William’s adherence to the royal tradition of maintaining privacy. However, Larman argued that in today’s world, secrecy is difficult to maintain.
After her diagnosis, Kate and her family spent significant time at Anmer Hall, including the children’s school break. On April 23, Prince Louis’ sixth birthday was celebrated with a photo taken by Kate, continuing her tradition despite previous controversy over an edited Mother’s Day image.

Since Kate’s announcement, the royal family has largely remained quiet, with Queen Camilla being the only member to make a brief mention. However, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams suggested that Prince William’s recent public engagements, including one at a food distribution charity, may signal a return to normalcy.
During the event, William received get-well cards for both his wife and father, responding with gratitude.

Fitzwilliams believes William’s participation in public duties suggests he and Kate are gradually resuming their royal responsibilities. The Times reported that William plans to increase his public appearances in the coming months. However, his recent trip to the Isles of Scilly upset his children, as he jokingly mentioned they were unhappy he had gone without them.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond speculated that William’s brief absence indicates that Kate’s health may be improving.

She suggested that Kate’s parents are likely supporting her, and the warm weather could aid her recovery. Meanwhile, Kensington Palace has confirmed that William will soon attend two public engagements, potentially signaling a positive shift for the royal family.
