Kelly Clarkson acknowledges that she is “not above spanking” her kids when they misbehave
Did you ever receive spanking as a child?
The American Academy of Paediatrics has concluded that spanking a child is both harmful and ineffective as a form of discipline, a practise that has gained controversy. However, some parents continue to vouch for it.
One of those parents is Kelly Clarkson, who not too long ago defended her choice in a radio interview.
River Rose, 8, and Remy, 6, are Kelly’s two children, and she declared that she “is not above spanking” when it comes to discipline. She clarified, “I don’t mean hitting her hard.” “It’s just a little smacking,”
She doesn’t see anything wrong with it because it’s something she grew up with.
“I feel okay about getting spanked by my parents because I’ve done well in life.” Kelly, a native of Texas, stated. “You guys, I’m from the South, so we get spanked.” If I ever found myself in the principal’s office, my mother would give her permission to spank me by calling the principal.I think it’s okay because I’m a very characterful, well-rounded person.
In addition to being a talented singer, songwriter, author, and TV personality, Clarkson was recently awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The American Idol star acknowledged that her approach to parenting is divisive and that it is challenging for her to reprimand her kids in public.
“It can be challenging to discipline someone in public because some may think it’s improper or something, but I don’t see anything wrong with a good spanking,” the woman remarked. “You might catch me spanking my child at the zoo because I do believe in spanking.”
She does, however, give her kids advance warning.
“Hello, this is ridiculous, I’m going to spank you on your bottom if you don’t stop right now, and it’s actually helped,” I said. She doesn’t act in that manner very frequently.
