King Charles is “enraged” that the Christmas custom was abolished

There are many centuries-old customs within the Royal Family. Most of them were staunchly upheld by Queen Elizabeth II, and it appeared that King Charles would follow suit (despite his desire to modernize the monarchy).

For the royals, one of them revolves on Christmas, which has never changed. However, it now seems as if one important tradition might disappear. An analyst claims that King Charles is enraged by that and that there is nothing he can do about it.

All year long, the members of the Royal Family lead busy lives. They do have a few weeks off in the summer, but Christmas is when they get to spend all of their time together away from the spotlight. The Royal Family has long-standing Christmas customs, just like millions of individuals around the world. Some have stayed the same over the years, while others have evolved.

Furthermore, it may surprise you to learn that some royal customs aren’t truly “royal” at all, but rather resemble those of any other family.

The Sandringham Estate in Norfolk is where the royal family has traditionally spent the Christmas season. After taking the train there, Queen Elizabeth would send out over 750 Christmas cards annually to her loved ones, friends, and other members of the royal household and government officials. King Charles and Prince William have carried on this custom.

A few years ago, royal fans were given a glimpse into Sandringham’s Christmas celebrations, specifically with regard to the cuisine, by Darren McGrady, the former personal chef to Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Diana, Prince William, and Prince Harry.

According to McGrady’s 2016 article in the Daily Mail, “the royals first gather on Christmas Eve for afternoon tea at 4 pm, usually in the elaborate Sandringham saloon beneath its exquisitely painted ceiling.” It involves a big cake, usually a honey and cream sponge or ginger cake; a fruit cake would interfere with the Christmas cake the next day.

With a pot of Earl Grey tea, finger sandwiches (crusts off, presented in squares) stuffed with ham and English mustard, Branston Pickle or Coronation chicken, and Sage Derby cheese are served alongside small cakes and scones.

In light of this, it seems that King Charles and the other royal circle pheasant shoot enthusiasts may need to acquire a new Christmas pastime. King Charles has been informed that there may not be enough birds for his yearly holiday photo session this year, according to The Sun.

According to reports, King Charles had the chance to import birds from other countries for the customary pastime, but he refused. Charles is well recognized for being a strong advocate for wildlife, and the pheasants have decreased in number at the estate along with other bird populations. King Charles was furious by the news, a source informed The Sun.

A complete cock-up occurred. “Just red faces, no bang, no birds,” the source claimed. “It was unacceptable to the King.” Additionally, it is said that a long-time gamekeeper who oversees Sandringham’s bird population was fired. The person continued, “Let’s just say he’s well and truly plucked off.”
