King Charles is troubled by his lack of a relationship with Lilibet and Archie, who are “always in his heart,” according to a new book
Prince Archie and Prince Lilibet are having the time of their lives with their parents, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, in sunny California.
The two young youngsters, who only recently obtained their royal titles, are said to spend a lot of time at their family’s house in Montecito, California. Of course, they’re probably unaware that the British side of their family is experiencing a lot of upheaval.
After much speculation, it has officially been confirmed that Harry will attend King Charles and Queen Camilla’s coronation – Buckingham Palace announced the news on Wednesday. Meghan, on the other hand, will remain in the United States with Archie and Lilibet. That means Charles will miss out on meeting his grandchildren, despite the fact that he hasn’t seen them in almost a year.
While reports claim that Archie and Lilibet were not invited to the coronation because they are too young, King Charles appears to be grappling with his feelings about the two little children. According to royal scholar Robert Jobson’s new book, the queen is dissatisfied with the current scenario.
The coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla is just a few weeks away. Everything seemed to have come together after months of conjecture and planning.
The coronation will be attended by approximately 2,000 people, and one of the primary topics surrounding it has been the appearance – or absence thereof – of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The couple publicly slammed the Royal Family in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, in their Netflix miniseries, Spare, which debuted in December, and, most recently, in Harry’s book, Spare. Following all of the allegations, it was not ruled out that Harry and Meghan would not be invited to the coronation at all.
They were eventually, though their children, Archie and Lilibet, were not.
“The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on May 6,” Buckingham Palace said. The Duchess of Sussex will stay in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, according to the Palace.
Last year, Harry, Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet visited the United Kingdom to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Lilibet celebrated her first birthday during their visit, and Charles was said to be “absolutely thrilled” to see her and her big brother.
A royal source told the BBC at the time that Charles and Lilibet – now a princess – had a “very emotional” first meeting.
“It was great to see them. “It was fantastic to have them back in the UK,” the person stated. “The prince and the duchess were overjoyed to meet them. He also stated that it was’very, very special’ for [then-Prince] Charles to spend time with his grandson, Archie, who is now three years old.”
According to the insider, “he hadn’t met Lili, his granddaughter, and so meeting her was very emotional, a very, very wonderful thing.”
While some believe Archie and Lilibet are too young to attend the coronation, King Charles, of course, wants to see his grandchildren. According to The Sun, the monarch is “pleased” that his son, Harry, is attending his wedding. At the same time, not being able to see Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet is difficult.
“The King is delighted that Harry, his son, whom he refers to as his ‘darling boy,’ will be present at the Abbey.” The source told the newspaper, “He wanted him there.” “It’s unfortunate that he won’t be able to see Meghan or his grandkids, but
Any parent or grandparent understands how difficult it is to be separated from their children or grandkids, even for a single day.
In King Charles’ instance, he hasn’t seen Archie or Lilibet in nearly a year, and it appears to have taken its toll.
Royal author Robert Jobson discusses King Charles’ grief about Archie and Lilibet, who are sixth and seventh in the line of succession, in his new book OUR KING: Charles III: the Man and the Monarch.
Jobson says that Archie and Lilbet are “always in Charles’ heart,” despite the fact that the schism between Harry and Meghan and the royals has made things difficult.
“Unfortunately, due to his poor relationship with his second son, Prince Harry, and his wife Meghan, Charles has spent hardly any quality time with his other grandchildren, Archie, and his sister, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor,” says Robert Jobson in his book, as quoted by the Mirror.
“However, those close to him claim that they are always in his heart.” It’s one of the reasons he’s having trouble coping with his estrangement from his second kid.”
Charles went to see Archie for the first time soon after he was born. Even back then, Harry and Meghan considered quitting the royal family and moving in another nation.
“Charles went to see Harry and Meghan at Frogmore Cottage a week after Archie was born in May 2019 and was thrilled as he cradled the baby boy in his arms,” Jobson recalls. “But even then, the Sussexes were plotting their escape from the Firm.”
Surprisingly, Archie and Lilibet were just bestowed the royal titles of prince and princess. Questions have been raised as to why, but Harry and Meghan have defined it as the children’s “birthright,” adding that they should be allowed to choose whether or not to keep them in the future.
