Melania Trump’s businesses and networth

Melania Trump entered the modeling world in the 1980s and went on to work in both Milan and Paris at the age of 18.

She wanted at least an improvement in her career and was soon in contact with wealthy Italian businessman Paolo Zampolli. She soon got a modeling contract and a visa to the US.

Melania told Harper’s Bazaar, “I came here for my career, and I did so well, I moved here. It never crossed my mind to stay here without papers. That is just the person you are. You follow the rules. You follow the law. Every few months you need to fly back to Europe and stamp your visa.  After a few visas, I applied for a green card and got it in 2001. After the green card, I applied for citizenship. And it was a long process.”

At the age of 26, Melania was considered too old for modeling, but she knew where she was going to flourish and was soon on the covers of all tobacco magazines and commercials.

Melania got to meet Donald Trump during one of the usual business meetings for networking. At that time, Donald Trump already divorced his wife, Marla Maples, and even came to the event with someone else, but left her when he saw Melania.

Donald Trump told Larry King in 2005, “I went crazy. I was supposed to meet somebody else. This great supermodel was sitting next to Melania. They said, ‘Look, there’s so and so.’ I said, ‘Forget about her. Who is the one on the left? And it was Melania.”

Melania was interested at first as Donald came with a date and asked for her number, which was a huge turn-off.

Melania recalled, ‘He’s here with a woman. I am not giving him my number. “He wanted my number,” Melania Trump told Tatler. “But he was on a date, so of course, I didn’t give it to him. I said, ‘I am not giving you my number; give me yours and I will call you.’ If I give him my number, I’m just one of the women he calls.”

Her best friend, Edit Molnar added, “She wouldn’t even consider it. Donald did all the work.”

They were able to start a relationship even though it has been rocky but managed to stay together.

Melania knew she was getting married to a real estate mogul and can choose not to work if she wanted to. The former model decided to do something and went into fashion businesses, especially jewelry.

According to Yahoo, though, Melania herself has a net worth of around $50 million.
