Riley Keough posts the last photograph of her mother Lisa Marie Presley before her passing
Although Lisa Marie Presley’s abrupt death may have caused the world to quietly move on, it is understandable that her friends and family are left with a glaring hole in their life.
Elvis Presley’s lone child passed away on January 12 after being taken to the hospital in full cardiac arrest.
TMZ reports that Lisa Marie’s housekeeper discovered her unconscious in the restroom. Danny Keough, her ex-husband, administered CPR prior to the arrival of paramedics.
In a statement, her mother, Priscilla Presley, confirmed Lisa Marie’s demise:
“I must break the heartbreaking news that my lovely daughter Lisa Marie has passed away with you. She was the most fervent, courageous, and loving lady I’ve ever met.
Riley Keough, Lisa Marie’s daughter, shared a touching tribute to her mother on social media after she passed away. The post featured a picture of Riley and Lisa from their earlier years together along with a simple heart emoji as a caption.
One can only image the barrage of feelings Riley is presently experiencing, and it’s possible that her decision to leave blank space on her post is merely a reflection of the fact that Riley isn’t yet prepared to discuss her mother’s sudden passing.
The 33-year-old shared the final snapshot she ever took with her beloved mother earlier this week in a new Instagram post.
She stated: “I feel fortunate to have a picture of the last time I saw my lovely mother. Thank you @georgieflores for taking this.
Lisa Marie attended the Golden Globes the day before she passed away, when she saw Austin Butler win the Best Actor in a Dramatic Motion Picture honour for his performance as Lisa Marie’s father in Elvis.
She remembered her reaction to watching Baz Luhrmann’s film about her father: “I really didn’t know what to do with myself after I saw it.”
“It was so incredible and so accurate and just so authentic that, yeah, I can’t even describe what it meant,” the author said. “I had to take, like, five days to process it.”
“I’m grateful that you are my mother in this life. I will always be grateful that we were together for 33 years. As far back as I can remember, I was aware that I had made the best mother choice for me in the entire world, Riley wrote. “I can recall everything. You gave me baths when I was a baby, I recall. I can still picture you driving me while Aretha Franklin was playing in the background. I still recall your smell and the way you would hold me when I would come to your bed at night.
“In Florida, I recall you bringing me out for ice cream after school. I recall you singing lullabies to my brother and I at night and lying next to us until we passed out.
“I recall how you used to get me a new Cracker Barrel tea set whenever you left town.”
“I still have every note you ever put in my lunchbox. I can still feel your hand on my forehead and the emotion I would get when I saw you pick me up from school. I can still feel the love of the most devoted mother I’ve ever known. I still recall how secure I felt in your embrace. Both when I was a child and two weeks ago on your couch, I recall having that experience.
“I appreciate you proving to me that the only thing that matters in this life is love. The way you loved me, my brother, and my sisters is how I intend to love my daughter.
Fans may find comfort in the thought that Lisa Marie has now been reunited with her cherished baby Benjamin, despite the fact that her passing is undoubtedly heartbreaking and caused a worldwide outpouring of grief.
In 2020, Benjamin, Elvis’ grandson, committed suicide at the young age of 27, and Lisa Marie’s life was unavoidably altered by his death.
According to rumours on Page Six, Lisa Marie was buried alongside her son over the weekend at Graceland. Now, it’s believed that the two are sitting next to each other in the Meditation Garden at Elvis’ fabled home.
