Days after turning forty, on July 14, Jacoby Jones, the Super Bowl Champion, was discovered dead at his house. On Sunday, July 14, Jacoby Jones, a former NFL receiver whose 2013 108-yard kickoff return still stands as the longest touchdown in Super Bowl history, was discovered dead in his house. He played for the Houston Texans, Baltimore Ravens, San Diego Chargers, and Pittsburgh Steelers during his NFL career, which spanned from 2007 to 2015. He contributed numerous big plays to the Ravens’ victory in their most recent Super Bowl.

In a statement sent by the NFL Players Association, his family claimed he passed away in his birthplace of New Orleans. In the meantime, the Ravens, with whom he had a one-day deal in 2017 in order to leave the team, released a sincere statement regarding his passing.
“Jacoby possessed a special ability to relate to everyone he came into contact with. The group writes on Facebook on July 14 that “His charisma, joy, and love created a one-of-a-kind presence that could light up any room or brighten any dark day.” Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta remembers the player as a “football hero” in a statement.
“I recall loving the occasion with him and his mother while we stood next to each other at the Super Bowl and gave each other hugs after the game. Jacoby will be honoured as a football legend in Baltimore and go down in history as a champion. “I will always treasure his smile, his contagious personality, and the joy he brought to his city,” he says. Head coach John Harbaugh remembers Jacoby Jones’s “warmth and effervescent personality,” saying, “I loved Jacoby Jones.” All of us did. His energy, passion, and love for people were contagious. He was a beacon of light. He goes on, “Seeing Jacoby’s joyful, smiling face was always my favourite personal experience with him. In Jesus’ arms, Jacoby, rest in peace.
Jones’ former Dancing with the Stars partner Karina Smirnoff shared a heartfelt statement on Instagram expressing her loss.
“I’m astonished and devastated. The 46-year-old captioned the photo, which features multiple images of her and Jones performing in 2013, saying, “The world lost one of its finest.” “Among the greatest, nicest, and funniest persons I’ve ever encountered is Cody. He was consistently cheerful.Big Moe, you’ll be sorely missed! Your jokes will be missed! You calling me Lil Moe will be missed. #RIP, JJ. One of the numerous tributes comes from Torrey Smith, who also played with Jones in Super Bowl XLVII.
My sibling! For the memories and your influence on this world, I give thanks to God. You were unique! Your jokes and on-field play will always be remembered! We will always have Momma Jones and Little Coby’s back! This one hurt me man.. we are going to miss You.
“We are deeply saddened to share that Jacoby Jones, a beloved former Ravens football player from New Orleans and a proud graduate of a historically Black college, has passed away at the age of 40,” the family of Jones says in a statement.

Jones’ Marion Abramson High School teammate Mickey Clemons Jr. tells WDSU News, “You have his back.” You can trust him. We are not abandoning any man. That was his credo, the ex-football player recalled. “He is me. “I am him,” he would assert without fail. I’m sure he’s laughing at me right now. However, his influence will go on here forever, Clemons added.
Derek Patterson, another former teammate, says the New Orleans-based publication that his pal gave him a call just before he passed away. “I saw Jacoby12 calling my phone, I seem to recall. “Ima hit him back,” I declared. I’m sure he’s upset with me. Because he gets upset with me when I don’t answer,” Patterson remarked, adding that he was unaware that it would be his final conversation with his close friend.
The man says that the following morning, he got a call from his son informing him that Jones had passed away. You constantly want to accomplish more. or elaborate. It’s what’s keeping me occupied.
