The star of “My Three Sons,” Dawn Lyn, was hospitalized and is currently fighting for her life with her husband by her side
Dawn Lyn, a child actress best known for her part in the hit sitcom My Three Sons, was a child star.
What the general public was unaware of until recently is that Lyn, who was ill, underwent major surgery, is currently fighting for her life in a coma.
On the popular sitcom My Three Sons in the late 1960s and early 1970s, Dawn Lyn portrayed the young and endearing little Dodie Harper Douglas.
The sitcom, which starred Fred MacMurray as a widowed aeronautical engineer, followed Steven Douglas as he raised his three sons with the assistance of his father.
The beloved sitcom became a mainstay in American homes and one of the longest-running programmes in television history.
In the final three seasons of the show, Dawn Lyn had a more prominent role.
Dawn remained an actress for many years after her appearance on My Three Sons. A sad update on this former child star has emerged, though.
Lyn’s recent medical issues were first made public by two of her former co-stars. She has been in a coma ever since having brain surgery to remove a tumor, according to both Tina Cole, who played Katie Miller Douglas, and Stanley Livingstone, who played her older brother Richard Douglas.
Livingstone and Dawn just had lunch together as a kind of casual reunion.
He pleaded with followers to never forget his pal and said:
Dawn is one of the most pleasant people I have ever met. Her husband John is also receiving prayers and thoughts at this time. This is terrible news!
On October 28, Stan provided a new update and revealed some fresh details about his cherished co-star.
He wrote, “She is still fighting meningitis and is unconscious.” Her brain waves and vital signs are normal. The medical staff is actively battling the bacterial infection. They have optimism.
Tina Cole also expressed her hope for Lyn’s recovery and expressed her intention to pray for both Lyn and her husband. Lyn’s husband has been by his wife’s side ever since she went into the coma, according to Cole, who said that she has maintained contact with him.
The person who has revealed that Lyn wanted her medical troubles to remain quiet is her real-life brother Leif Garrett.
He allegedly said the following to TMZ after the news of her coma had already leaked:
“My sister Dawn never wanted the procedure to be made public. Just remember my sister in your prayers, and please respect the privacy of our family. I’m grateful.
Dawn Lyn played the character’s daughter in the western Shoot Out, which starred Gregory Peck, in 1971.
William John Reese has been Dawn’s husband for more than 16 years. The two travelled to Hawaii in 2006 in order to accept a job offer from Reese’s. Lyn is said to like watching movies, riding on the back of her husband’s motorcycle, and trekking in Hawaii.
Lyn had previously decided not to pursue acting roles any longer, but she had also decided not to turn down any that might come her way. According to Wikipedia, Dawn’s final on-screen appearance was in a Wonder Woman episode from 1978.
The actor also shares ownership of Pier 39, a store in San Francisco, California.
