Whitney Purvis, a former 16 and Pregnant star, delivers devastating news

The abrupt and tragic death of her teenage son, Weston Gosa Jr., is Whitney Purvis’s worst nightmare as a parent. She gained notoriety as a young mother on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant. On Monday, June 2, the 33-year-old reality star shared the devastating news of Weston’s death on Facebook.

Weston was only 16 years old. A collection of pictures documenting special occasions in her son’s childhood were included with her heartfelt post. “Writing this is really difficult,” Whitney started. “Weston, my gorgeous kid, is no longer with us. He was just sixteen years old. Life is so unjust and harsh. I simply don’t get it. I don’t know what to do with myself now that my baby is gone.

“He was so perfect,” she added. This is indeed the realization of my worst dread. After losing a kid, how do you continue living your life? I can’t believe this is actually occurring. I do not wish for that to be true. I would stop at nothing to reunite with him. There are simply no words to express the anguish I am experiencing.

She went on to say in a devastating homage: “Weston Owen Gosa, you have my undying love. My heart belongs to you. I was really pleased with the young man you were growing into. I simply cannot continue without you. My angel, may you rest in peace. You’re gone too soon.

June 2, 2025–April 2, 2009 “Rest in Peace, my baby Weston,” Whitney wrote after sharing a second picture of herself holding Weston. Precious, you have my undying love. Why life must be so cruel will always be beyond me. You’ll be my baby forever. Weston’s stepmother posted some information on social media, but the cause of his death has not been made public.

She disclosed that the family is awaiting the findings of an autopsy and that Weston had a number of persistent medical issues, including diabetes. All we know is that we attempted to rouse him up this morning at around seven o’clock.

She wrote, “He wasn’t breathing.” We called for an ambulance and tried CPR. He was taken to the Gordon County hospital by paramedics, who also made an attempt, and they declared him dead.

Weston was “brilliant, smart, funny,” and full of potential, according to her. “It was really surprising. “The most agonizing thing I have ever gone through is losing a child,” she continued. “Please remember Whitney and our family in your prayers.” When Whitney was still a teenager, Weston, who was born in 2009, appeared on the first season of 16 and Pregnant.

In 2014, she and Weston’s father, Weston Sr., had another son, River. Eventually, the two parted ways permanently. Whitney had personal difficulties in the last few years. According to TMZ, she lost custody of both of her sons and was arrested in 2024 for allegedly not paying child support.
