Woman claiming to be Madeleine McCann gives DNA test update as she attempts to prove identity

Madeleine McCann, a four-year-old girl, went missing in 2007 from an apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, while her parents were out for dinner.

Her disappearance became one of the most widely reported missing person cases in history. Despite years of investigation, her whereabouts remain unknown, though her parents continue to hope for her return.

In 2020, German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters suggested that Madeleine was likely murdered in Portugal by suspect Christian Brueckner, a convicted pedophile serving a prison sentence for unrelated crimes.

Recently, a 21-year-old Polish woman, Julia Wendell, has gained attention by claiming she might be Madeleine McCann. She has shared supposed evidence on social media, including physical similarities such as an eye defect. Julia states that she has little memory of her early childhood and has questioned her parents about her past.

She also alleges that a German pedophile, linked to Madeleine’s case, abused her. After conducting her own research, she became convinced that she might be Madeleine. Julia’s claims have reportedly reached Madeleine’s parents, who are considering a DNA test to verify her identity.
