Raymond Burr adopted 25 kids

Raymond Burr is best known for his role in a crime movie and has appeared in over 90 films.

During the height of his career, his sexuality became a stumbling block in his path so he thought.

He hid his sexuality from people as of then it could have cost him his career, but he never stopped showing love to people in anyway he can.

Raymond Burr was born in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada on May 21, 1917. His parents went their separate ways when he was six years and had to move with his mother to Vallejo, California.

He dropped out of school and started doing several odd jobs to help his mother and siblings.

He started doing radio dramas I. Francisco area at the age of 12 and at the age of 16 he went to develop his talent at Pasadenan Playhouse.

He knew he loved acting and went in all for it after serving in the military. 

He landed his Broadway debut in the production Crazy With the Heat.

In 1946, he made his film debut in San Quentin and the rest is history.

He became successful and had so many awards to his name. His last movie was aired same year he passed away.
He kicked the bucket after suffering from kidney cancer and was honoured with a star on the Hollywood walk of Fame.
Burr has always been known to be a secretive person and his sexuality came to light after he passed away.

Burr claimed he was first married to Annette Sutherland, who got involved in a plane crash and lost her life. He said his next marriage was to Isabella Ward, and it ended in a divorce. He was married again to Laura Morgan who passed away due to cancer.

Raymond Burr explained, “I once had a long relationship with a lady, and wherever I went in the world, if I saw something she would look great in, a gown or gloves or a ring, I always knew what color she liked most. I knew her size, what material she appreciated most, and I spent the whole time buying gifts for her. And I loved her very much.

At Christmas, she had 12 pairs of socks made for me. They were hand-knit, and they were cashmere, but the socks were all green, the one color I didn’t like, and they were all the wrong size.”

“You find out how little you mean to someone,” he added.
It was later revealed that all he said was cover up for his true sexuality as he was gay.

Burr might never have been married, but he made sure to create his own family by adopting 25 children from different parts of the world. He didn’t stop at that he took care of those families.

Raymond Burr was a true Hollywood legend and may he keep resting in Peace.
