Sage, 36, was discovered dead in his Studio City, Los Angeles, residence on July 13, 2012. At the time, his residence was raided for prescription medicines, and a toxicology analysis revealed that Sage only had a trace amount of the sedative hydrocodone in his system.

According to the BBC, the Los Angeles County Coroner declared the death natural, claiming that the 36-year-old died of a heart attack caused by a disease that creates blocked arteries. He was the eldest son of Sylvester Stallone and actress Sasha Czack, Stallone’s first wife.

His parents were understandably distraught “When word of his death broke, the Rocky star was “devastated and grief-stricken,” according to Metro, and he issued a statement that read, “When a parent loses a kid, there is no greater anguish.” As a result, I am pleading with everyone to remember my amazing son and to have compassion for his lovely mother Sasha.

We shall be haunted by this heartbreaking loss for the rest of our lives. Sage was our first child and the centre of our existence, and I humbly ask that his memory and soul be left in peace for all.”
