One of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Bruce Willis retires from acting
After being diagnosed with aphasia, Bruce Willis is set to retire from the big screens.
This condition affects one’s ability to communicate. It can occur due to a growing tumor or a head injury. It is also known as a language disorder, affecting one’s ability to speak, write or read.
His family confirmed the retirement and his daughter, Rumer Willis took to her Instagram to post a picture of her father with a statement.
“To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family, we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities,” Rumer wrote. “As a result of this and with much consideration, Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.”
“This is a challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion, and support. We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him.”
His family wrote in the statement, “As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up and together we plan to do just that.”
Even though the retirement announcement came too sudden, he is going to be spending a lot of time with his family.
Bruce Willis rose to fame after starring in the TV series Moonlighting. His role in the movie won him an Emmy award and a golden globe award.
His career started after starring in the action movie, classic Die Hard. He turned the 1988 movie into a massive hit and became one of the most iconic action heroes.
He became one of the most iconic Hollywood stars and went on to appear in Armageddon, Pulp Fiction, and The Sixth Sense.
Recently, he seems to be slowing down his pace as he has been appearing in low-budget films. This left many people asking if he was doing it for the paycheck or because of his, I’ll health.
He had a Golden raspberry award dedicated to him, in honor of his worst performance in a 2021 movie.
It can be seen that his health affected his performance so much, but he still wanted to be doing what he loves.
He will surely be missed on the big screens and we wish him all the best.
