Nicolas Cage is Expecting
His First Child Together
with 27-Year-Old Wife

Nicolas Cage, 58, and his wife Riko Shibata, 27, are expecting their first child together as husband and wife. In fact, the couple revealed earlier this week that they had already decided on a name for their first child.

In a recent interview with GQ, Cage discussed his sentiments about his growing family and his love for his wife. The pair married in March 2021, and they announced their pregnancy in the month of their one-year anniversary.
Starting From Scratch

The couple first met in Japan in the year 2020. The pair, however, found it difficult to fly to each other anytime they wanted due to COVID social separation and quarantine protocols.

The couple had a long-distance engagement during the first year of their relationship. Cage expressed his displeasure with his brother Marc Coppola on the Q104.3 radio show, saying, “She left New York and went back to Kyoto, Japan, and I went back to Nevada and haven’t seen her in six months.”

Despite the problems posed by the epidemic, the couple’s connection blossomed, and Cage developed feelings for Shibata. Cage didn’t waste any time in proposing to Shibata and asking for her hand in marriage.

It should come as no surprise that Nicolas Cage’s engagement was anything but ordinary.

Cage stated that he proposed to Shibata over FaceTime and had the engagement ring shipped to her via FedEx.
It’s not the most traditional proposal narrative, but it’s in keeping with Cage’s unique personality. “I got her a black diamond engagement ring,” Cage said on his brother’s radio show.

Her favourite colour is black, thus the black gold and black diamond appealed to her. I personalised and customised it, and I mailed it to her via FedEx.” Following their engagement, the pair married at the Wynn Las Vegas in a “very small and personal” ceremony. Developing a Family The pair has been married for just over a year.
