During the Remembrance Sunday Service, Kate Middleton reportedly calmed an anxious Camilla

For the first time as monarch this past weekend, King Charles presided over the traditional Remembrance Sunday liturgy. For those who are unaware, it is a British holiday honouring those who gave their life while serving their nation. This makes it a consistently sad yet unforgettable event.

This Sunday was important for the Royal Family for still another reason, as it was the first memorial service held without Queen Elizabeth. Charles was an important participant in the occasion, but Kate Middleton and the Queen Consort Camilla’s photos generated the most discussion.

The British monarchy will always carry on Queen Elizabeth’s legacy. She ruled for more than 70 years, but today King Charles is in the throne.

It should be obvious that Charles has been eagerly awaiting his coronation for a very long time; in fact, the evidence suggests that he is more than capable of stepping into his mother’s enormously large shoes.

Queen Elizabeth’s numerous responsibilities have been carried out by King Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort. However, even though they have been carrying out royal tasks for decades, things will now be different because they are in a completely different spotlight. The pair presided over the annual Remembrance Sunday service for the first time this past weekend.

Charles presided over the ceremony at the Cenotaph in the heart of London, where thousands gathered to honour the bravery of those who gave their lives in the past to defend their nation.

Charles attended his first royal service on a difficult Remembrance Sunday. Big Ben chimed at 11 o’clock, and then the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery fired shots from the nearby Horse Guards Parade. Pictures from the event show King Charles appearing to hold back tears during the two-minute silence.

According to legend, King Charles’ wreath paid homage to Queen Elizabeth and his grandfather, George VI, by displaying his racing colours. Additionally, Prince William laid a wreath, which coincidentally appeared to be the same wreath that Charles had laid when he was the Prince of Wales, a title he had held for more than 60 years before to becoming king.

Several other Royal Family members joined King Charles and Prince William at the annual Remembrance Day service.

Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, and Camilla, the Queen Consort, were spotted on the balcony of the nearby Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office building to observe the events.

But as was already indicated, things were not as they had been in the past. There are typically three persons standing on the balcony, as anyone who has recently witnessed a Remembrance Sunday parade would know. There were only two this weekend; Queen Elizabeth’s place was vacant.

But by maintaining a distance between them, Camilla and Kate appeared to respect the late Queen’s legacy.

The two royals had three poppies, one for each of them, attached to their black jackets and caps. Buckingham Palace is the only place that has ever confirmed the exact reason the royals wear many poppies. According to one theory, it represents their relatives who fought and died in the war.

To honour the five branches of the armed forces, including the Army, Royal Navy, and Royal Air Force, Queen Elizabeth used to wear five poppies to the Remembrance Sunday service.

Yet when Camilla and Kate sat on the balcony, other troubling rumours about the strain being put on the former also appeared. Judi James, a body specialist, stated Kate made a considerate but unsettling gesture to the “anxious” Queen Consort.

In an interview with the Mirror, James stated that it was evident that Camilla found the Remembrance Day service to be a “nerve-wracking” occasion.

As Queen Consort, she was attending the liturgy for the first time. Fortunately, Kate was there to give her some peace of mind.

“While observing from the balcony, Camilla exhibited both regal duties and certain anxiety behaviours. As her wreath was placed, she gave a quiet nod of recognition while standing next to Kate. Later, as they were leaving the balcony, she turned to face Kate and gave her a tender smile,” James said.

“As she went ahead of Kate in her new capacity as Queen, Camilla smiled at her once more before bowing once more in acknowledgment. However, Camilla made other movements that clearly expressed her fear.

She appeared unable to remain completely still, and when she did speak to Kate, it was while staring straight ahead rather than in her direction.

Kate swiftly averted her head in an expression of courteous concern, Judi James continued. Camilla’s nervous motions, which were most noticeable in the flapping of her hymn sheet as her two hands fiddled with it throughout, contrasted with Kate’s serene and extremely motionless body language.

Over time, Kate and the King and Camilla have developed a close relationship. The moment William and his wife first met, they were greeted with wide arms.

Judi James, a body language expert, claimed that Camilla was anxious and that King Charles’ body language was also conveying something.
