He eventually signed a contract with Twentieth Century Fox, but he had no idea how it would alter the course of his life.
Unfortunately, the world and its ways succeeded in getting him to focus on another task. After joining the American Army, Selleck served from 1967 until 1973 in the California National Guard.
The greatest test of his dedication came when he went back to Hollywood. In many respects, being fired and losing his job caused Selleck to reassess his long-term ambitions and aims.
