Erika Kirk Opens Up About Her Daughter in the Wake of Charlie’s Tragic Death
Erika Kirk is now raising her two young children on her own after losing her husband, Charlie Kirk. As a widow, she’s been incredibly candid about her grief following his murder, vowing to carry on his work and legacy. She’s even stepped in to appear on The Charlie Kirk Show since his passing, something their kids were already familiar with watching. Just recently, she shared a touching reason behind that.
Erika is picking up where Charlie left off after he was fatally shot just a few weeks back. The mom of two hasn’t held back in talking about the heartbreak. Right after it happened, she released a statement from the very studio and office where Charlie used to film his program, The Charlie Kirk Show.

In an emotional video that really tugs at the heartstrings, Erika admitted she hasn’t fully broken the news to their little ones—a daughter who arrived in August 2022 and a son born in May 2024—that their dad isn’t coming home. For now, she’s told them he’s away on a special work trip with Jesus.
“Charlie always wanted to be remembered for his bravery and his deep faith when he was no longer here,” Erika shared. “But above everything, he adored his kids and loved me with every bit of his being. My husband gave his life for me, for our country, and for our family.”
She went on: “When I got back home last night, our daughter Gigi just flew into my arms. We chatted a bit, and she said, ‘Mommy, I missed you.’ I told her I missed her too, sweetheart. Then she asked, ‘Where’s Daddy?’”
“How do you even begin to explain that to a three-year-old? She’s only three. So I said, ‘Honey, Daddy loves you more than anything. Don’t you fret—he’s on a work trip with Jesus, making sure he can keep up with your blueberry habit.’”
Why Erika Kirk’s Daughter Loved Tuning Into Her Dad’s Show
Charlie and Erika always kept their children’s lives pretty private, so details about them are scarce.
But a few days ago, Erika offered a sweet glimpse into how Charlie bonded with the kids. While chatting on Fox, she revealed that their daughter was a regular viewer of his show for one adorable reason.
Whenever he’d head out to do the show, he’d sneak along one of her toys.
“It was their special little link,” Erika explained. “And he cherished it just as much, since it meant carrying a piece of her with him while he was on air.”
