Illinois Governor JB Pritzker Fires Back at Trump with a Stunning Claim
Things are heating up between Donald Trump and Illinois officials after the president sent in Texas National Guard troops to handle the ongoing anti-immigration protests. Not everyone’s on board with this move, and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker is leading the charge against it, going so far as to suggest Trump is dealing with dementia.
The whole situation kicked off when Trump decided to deploy about 500 members of the Texas National Guard to an Army Reserve base roughly an hour southwest of Chicago. They’re set to be there for at least 60 days to start, but there’s already a lawsuit in the works trying to block it.

While Trump’s base and some GOP folks are cheering him on, Democrats in Illinois—including Gov. Pritzker—are furious. After Pritzker slammed the decision, Trump didn’t hold back, claiming that both the governor and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson “should be in jail” for not doing enough to protect ICE officers.
“Chicago Mayor should be in jail for failing to protect Ice Officers!” Trump fired off in a statement.
Pritzker Doubles Down, Accuses Trump of Dementia
Pritzker isn’t backing down, though. In a recent interview reported by The Chicago Tribune, he escalated things by calling out Trump’s mental state.
“This guy’s clearly struggling with dementia,” Pritzker said on Tuesday. “He’s got these ideas lodged in his mind that he just can’t shake. He doesn’t read up on anything current, doesn’t stay informed. It’s all just old stuff rattling around in his brain, and that’s why he’s fixating on these cities like this.”
He went on to say, “The scary part is, he’s got the full might of the military and the federal government at his fingertips, and he’s using it however he wants.”
Trump’s apparently due for his annual checkup soon, though he had one not too long ago. But questions about his health have been swirling for months now, especially after people noticed some odd marks on his hands.
It first caught attention back in the spring during his hush money trial involving Stormy Daniels. Since then, photos have shown bruises on his hand a few times, like when he met with French President Emmanuel Macron in February.
What’s Up with Trump’s Health?
The White House has brushed it off, insisting it’s no big deal and nothing health-related.
Spokesperson Karoline Leavitt put out a statement saying, “President Trump is all about connecting with people—he shakes more hands and meets more Americans every day than any president before him. His energy never quits, and he shows it daily.”
Just before he and Melania headed to the Kennedy Center for the Les Misérables premiere in mid-June, folks on social media spotted the bruising again.
According to the Economic Times, Dr. Ola Otulana—a GP at the Cassiobury Court rehab center in Watford, England—took a look at the photos and said it looks like a simple superficial bruise from something minor, maybe a bump or even a blood test.
