Sometimes people’s opinion doesn’t matter

I don’t care how much you don’t like me. The last time I checked, the road to heaven wasn’t through your yard.

Most times, it’s okay not to listen to people’s opinion, because no matter what you do, people will always find reasons to pick on you and cancel you at the end.

My teenage days was one of the most tiring and worst moments of my life.

I was picked on by people that should have protected me, I was ridiculed and made fun of because I chose a unique and perfect path different from what society already set out.

I was told that I would never be successful and no man will ever want a woman who places her career above marriage and making babies.

Looking back at all the trials and the hurtful words that became a building stone to my greatness; I can’t but thank God for all he has done in my life.

After I completed my secondary school education and wanted to further my career; people were having none of it, my cousins and aunts mocked me, saying that I should get married like my mates and not going to school. 

They always reminded me that no man wants an educated woman, that men will always feel inferior to an educated woman and hence no one will want me.

I didn’t listen to whatever they had to say; I knew what I wanted and I was never going to settle for less.

I completed my master’s and was one of the best graduating students; it didn’t take two weeks for me to get employed in one of the biggest firms in the country and that’s where I met the love of my life.

People’s opinions shouldn’t always matter especially when you know you are on the right path; do whatever makes you happy.
