Queen Elizabeth’s relationship with Camilla Parker Bowles
Camilla Parker from the start has never been in a good relationship with the royal family owing to the ups and downs in her love story with Prince Charles.
The two were having an affair while Prince Charles was still married to Princess Diana.
Camilla wasn’t accepted by the royal family especially not by the queen. Queen Elizabeth once called her a wicked woman and was furious about Charles lying about their relationship.
The royal family seems to be facing a lot of drama over the years. First was Meghan Markle and Harry leaving the firm, then Oprah Winfrey has a lot to say about the family members too.
Next was the tragic death of Prince Philip, which left the queen and the whole of Britain in sorrow.
After The death of Prince Philip, many thought the Queen will drop some of her roles, but it seems like she’s doing so already because of health reasons.
“The Queen has reluctantly accepted medical advice to rest for the next few days,” a Buckingham Palace spokesman said at the time.
“Her Majesty is in good spirits and is disappointed that she will no longer be able to visit Northern Ireland, where she had been due to undertake a series of engagements today and tomorrow.
“It is clear the Queen is feeling some effects of her age. She is somebody who has dedicated a tremendous amount of time and energy to her service as the monarch,” he said.
The Queen seems to be passing some of her roles to other members of the Royal family.
Speaking about Queen’s relationship with Camilla Parker Bowles.
In 1981, Prince Charles announced his engagement to Diana Spencer, and they got married the same year in June.
A few years after their marriage, a huge storm arose in the marriage we all taught was perfect from a glance.
Charles was having an affair with Camilla and it seems like it all started in 1986. Diana found out about it and confronted Camilla asking her to back off.
“I know what’s going on between you and Charles and I just want you to know that,” Camilla recalled Diana saying, as quoted by Town & Country.
“So I said, ‘I want my husband.’ And I said, ‘I’m sorry I’m in the way and it must be hell for both of you. But I do know what’s going on. Don’t treat me like an idiot,’” Diana said, as per Camilla.
I’m August 1996, Diana decided to get a divorce from Charles and it didn’t take long before it was all processed.
The royal family didn’t want to have anything to do with Charles’ mistress and even prevented her from attending royal functions.
The Queen was furious that Camilla didn’t let Charles recover from his marriage and once referred to her as a wicked woman.
It’s been three years and it seems like things are finally getting better between Camilla and the royal family. The Queen has acknowledged her presence in some royal functions and their relationship has also gotten better.
The couple got married in 2005 and they are living their best life.
