After suspected cardiac arrest, Anne Burrell was discovered by her husband

Tragic new information about Anne Burrell’s untimely death is coming to light. Burrell was discovered unconscious in her Brooklyn home on the morning of June 17, 2025, and rescuers were unable to bring her back to consciousness, according to news reports released yesterday.

She was only 55 when she died. According to other reports, Burrell seemed to be in a good mood the night before she passed away. According to her Instagram, the well-liked TV chef participated in the last improv class performance, an improv comedy show at The Second City in Brooklyn, on Monday, June 16.

A source told People, “Everyone said she was so great last night and so happy.”

“She was in great spirits last night during and after the improv show,” according to a second person who was present at the performance. Fun, gregarious Anne, having a great time. Burrell was found “unconscious and unresponsive” and was declared dead at the scene, according to the New York City Police Department.

There is now new information about how Burrell’s husband, Stuart Claxton, first found her lying on the shower floor. According to law enforcement officials who spoke to TMZ, Claxton last saw his wife alive the previous evening at around one in the morning. Six or seven hours later, he discovered her asleep in the couple’s restroom.

According to the Daily Mail, Claxton called 911 and was told to start cardiopulmonary resuscitation. But according to reports, Burrell’s body was already cold. Since the New York Fire Department confirmed to the Daily Mail that they had responded to a complaint of a cardiac arrest around 7.50am on Tuesday, a potential cause of death has also been identified.

In a statement, her family added, “Anne was a cherished wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend — her smile lit up every room she entered.” “Anne’s brightness touched millions of people worldwide, reaching well beyond the people she knew.

Even though she is no longer with us, her spirit, kindness, and unending love endure. Burrell was born in Cazenovia, New York, on September 21, 1969. Her mother’s handmade meals and the influence of culinary legend Julia Child sparked her love of cooking at an early age.
