At age 67, Michael Madsen, star of “Kill Bill” and “Reservoir Dogs,” passes away
Michael Madsen, an actor, died. He was sixty-seven. The Hollywood Reporter was informed by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department that deputies were dispatched to the actor’s Malibu residence on Thursday morning following a 911 call. At 8:25 a.m., they discovered the actor unconscious and pronounced him dead.
Liz Rodriguez, Michael’s representative at EMR Media Entertainment, told the site, “We understand Michael had a cardiac arrest.” Actress Virginia Madsen, Madsen’s sister, paid tribute to her brother on Instagram on behalf of the Madsen family.

Michael, my brother, has departed the stage. He was velvet and thunder. Tenderness enveloped in mischief. She wrote, “A poet disguised as an outlaw.” “A father, a son, and a brother—marked by love that left its mark, etched in contradiction.” The Madsen family is mourning “flesh and blood and ferocious heart, who stormed through life loud, brilliant, and half on fire,” she said, rather than “mourning a public figure” or “a myth.” Who leaves us echoes, half lullaby, half legend, rough, dazzling, and unrepeatable. The actress from “Sideways” stated that she will miss “the sudden laughter, the sound of him,” as well as her inner jokes with her brother.
“The boy he was before the legend will be missed.” My big brother is missed. She went on, “Thank you to everyone who reached out with love and memories.” We’ll let you know when we’ll be celebrating his life. However, for the time being, we remain close and let the silence to speak for us.
The actor was born in Chicago, Illinois, and is well-known for his parts in movies including “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” “Reservoir Dogs,” “Kill Bill,” and “Donnie Brasco,” among many others. He has more than 320 acting credits listed on IMDB.
In a joint statement obtained by USA Today, his managers wrote, “Michael Madsen has been doing some incredible work with independent film in the last two years, including upcoming feature films ‘Resurrection Road,’ Concessions and Cookbook for Southern Housewives,’ and was really looking forward to this next chapter in his life.” The statement went on to say, “Michael was also preparing to release a new book called ‘Tears For My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems,’ which is currently being edited.” “Many people will miss Michael Madsen, one of Hollywood’s most iconic actors.”
Madsen was married to Jeannine Bisignano from 1991 to 1995; the couple had two kids, Christian and Max. He wed DeAnna Morgan in 1996, and the two of them had three kids: Hudson, Kalvin, and Luke. Hudson committed suicide in 2022.
