Brad Pitt Takes Angelina Jolie to Court Over Winery Drama—And Private Emails Are Spilling Out

Brad Pitt is going after his ex, Angelina Jolie, in a massive lawsuit, asking for millions. Newly unsealed court papers are pulling back the curtain on their latest fight.

Remember when Brad and Angelina were Hollywood’s golden couple? Their two-year marriage crashed in 2016, but it’s taken nearly a decade to untangle everything. The divorce is technically done, yet the two are still slugging it out in court like it’s round one.

The heart of the mess? Château Miraval, that dreamy French winery they snapped up together. Angelina sold her half to some outside buyer, and Brad says she broke their deal—claiming they’d promised not to sell without the other’s okay.

That sale kicked off years of courtroom chaos. Now the docs show Brad wants $35 million in damages, saying her move wrecked the business they built.

The bombshell dropped through emails from November 2023.

Angelina’s lawyers fired back earlier: “Any hassle with digging up files is Brad’s own doing—he’s the one chasing $35 million.” They added that he’ll have to cough up whatever proves (or doesn’t prove) the harm he claims.

In an October 2023 note, her team pointed out Brad keeps pushing for “ongoing damages” tied to the winery’s day-to-day hits. They also slammed him for dodging files about why he wanted that ironclad four-year NDA covering his own “personal misconduct.” To them, those docs are make-or-break and have to come out.

Brad’s side counters that just six months after the sale, Angelina’s lawyers floated a beefed-up mutual gag order for the divorce. When Brad reminded her they’d sworn not to unload shares without a heads-up, she flat-out denied any such pact.

Angelina’s attorney, Paul Murphy, told PEOPLE: “Brad’s latest filing dodges our points and leans on guesswork, all to pry into her private lawyer chats.” He wrapped with, “It’s more proof this suit is just years of him trying to control and wear her down. We’re ready for the hearing.”
