Céline Dion shares her heartbreaking diagnosis with tears

In recent years, Céline Dion has struggled with health issues. Because of her severe and ongoing muscle spasms, she had to stop performing and postpone a lot of her Courage World Tour dates.

She postponed further dates on the North American portion of her world tour in January 2022. The world tour was supposed to resume in 2023, but the celebrity has instead been concentrating on getting well and relaxing at her Las Vegas home.

However, Céline Dion now provides a very depressing health update. On Thursday, the adored Canadian singer released an emotional statement in which she revealed that she has a rare neurological condition.

The career of Céline Dion has been both extensive and fruitful. However, the past year has been difficult for her because of her severe health issues.

Dion was scheduled to perform her brand-new performance at Resorts World Las Vegas in November 2021, returning to the stage in Las Vegas. Ten planned performances on the biggest and tallest stage in all of “Sin City” were to mark the beginning of her comeback.

Her return to the Las Vegas stage, nevertheless, suffered a serious setback.

According to reports, Dion recently underwent therapy for severe and ongoing muscle spasms. She was forced to postpone several concerts in Las Vegas, first in November of last year and then from January 19 to February 5, 2022, due to “unforeseen medical symptoms.”

According to the statement, Celine has been dealing with severe and ongoing muscle spasms that keep her from performing.

“Her medical staff is still monitoring and treating her. She is unable to take part in the current show rehearsals due to the symptoms she is having, though.

Céline wrote on Instagram that she was “heartbroken” about cancelling the concerts.

“My team and I have been working on our new show for the past eight months, and I can’t even begin to express how devastated I am that we won’t be able to debut it in November. This brand-new, cutting-edge theatre has been prepared by my partners at Resorts World Las Vegas and AEG, and it is absolutely stunning,” the 54-year-old singer wrote.

Initially, Céline was going to embark on her world tour’s European leg. But eventually, the muscle spasms made it impossible for her to continue, and she was forced to stop.

Fans from all across the world have been wishing her well. Her global tour’s European leg was supposed to continue as planned in the spring of 2023. However, Dion provided a new, depressing health update on Thursday.

Céline Dion revealed in a video on her Instagram page that she has Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), a very rare neurological condition that causes uncontrollable muscle spasms. She is compelled to postpone the tour due to her incurable illness.

She cancelled the 2023 summer performances and moved the 2003 spring performances to 2024.

“As you are aware, I have always been honest, and while I wasn’t ready to speak up before, I am now. It’s been really challenging for me to face my challenges and talk about everything that I’ve been through because I’ve been dealing with health issues for a long time, Céline Dion said through tears.

“Recently, I received a stiff person syndrome diagnosis, an extremely rare neurological condition that affects 1 in a million people. We now know that this is the cause of all the spasms I’ve been experiencing, despite the fact that we are still learning about this uncommon ailment.

She went on to claim that the spasms significantly interfere with her everyday activities and make it difficult for her to walk. Additionally, it prevents her from singing as she used to using her vocal chords.

In order to recover, Céline Dion said she is working with a medical team and a sports medicine therapist to “build back my strength and my ability to perform again.”

Dion admits that it has been difficult.

“Singing is all I know; it’s what I’ve done my entire life and what I love doing the most. She thanked all of her supporters and stated, “I miss you so much. I miss seeing all of you being on the stage singing for you.

“I want to express my gratitude for your kind words, support, and well wishes on my social media. I greatly value this. Take care of one another. Good luck. I adore you all so much and I sincerely want to see you soon.

Over the course of her career, Céline Dion has sold more than 220 million albums. She started a four-year residency in Las Vegas in 2003, and it quickly became the most lucrative of all time, bringing in more than $385 million.
