Diane Keaton’s Heartwarming Final Instagram Post: A Glimpse into Her Life with Reggie and Beyond

Diane Keaton’s last Instagram post before she passed away captured a sweet, everyday moment at home with her dog. The acclaimed actress died at 79 in California on Saturday, October 11. She had shared that final post back on April 11, marking National Pet Day.

It was part of a fun collab with Hudson Grace, a brand for home and lifestyle stuff, and showed her hanging out with her Golden Retriever, Reggie.

The caption read: “Proof our pets have great taste too! Happy National Pet Day from HG & @diane_keaton 🖤🐾”

Diane, who was a total dog enthusiast, first brought Reggie into her world in 2020. She introduced him on Instagram with a clip of the pup dashing around and leaping in the backyard.

Over the years, she loved dropping these genuine glimpses into her life on the platform, mixing personal vibes with her creative side.

Toward the end of 2024, she posted some behind-the-scenes shots and videos from the studio where she recorded her debut solo track, a holiday tune called “First Christmas.”

Every now and then, she’d share photos with her kids—her daughter Dexter, who’s 29, and her son Duke, 25.

Diane’s quirky, free-spirited personality shone through too. For her 77th birthday in January 2023, she put up a video montage of fancy cakes, overlayed with her own voice belting out “Happy Birthday.”

She captioned it with a cheeky twist: “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE LOVE OF MY LIFE… ME!”

She skyrocketed to stardom in the 1970s, thanks to her parts in The Godfather movies and her work with Woody Allen. That led to her snagging an Oscar for Best Actress in the 1977 classic Annie Hall.

Throughout her impressive career, she starred in favorites like Father of the Bride, teamed up often with director Nancy Meyers, and appeared in the popular Book Club films.
