Donny and Marie Osmond
They both were the most famous icons of the 70s music industry. They were later joined by Jimmy and Donny after opening a barbershop and their group became known as the Osmonds. They became teen idols and they couldn’t go anywhere at the peak of 1971 and 1975 without a crowd of teenagers.
The Osmonds became role models for all teen fans who followed their movies. Something which was commonly followed at that time was Osmandmania. The siblings had always been on the top of the music charts. By 1976 the Osmonds had produced 16 albums. New popularity came out when the only sister of them, Married Osmond had a debut with Donny.
The two Osmonds joined the television show “Danny & Marie” in 1976. The show was highly popular and was presented all over the world. The show always remained full of guests. But the sibling’s success came out with a price behind the scene.
When the show started in 1975, Dannie and Marie both were teenagers and Marie used to look very good by his side. Marie Osmond was the only girl with 8 brothers in the Osmond family who sang with her brothers at the height of their fame. In the 1970s and 1980s, she enjoyed her solo career as a country music star.
It was an instant success when she joined her brother on the “Danny & Marie television show. But deep inside Marie was under pressure to look good on screen. Marie told, “I had Producers take me out into the parking lot when I was 103 pounds and tell me that I was obese, disgusting and a disgrace to my family”.
Marie was too conscious about her health and fitness “Food was becoming my enemy, and it should not be that way”, she told in an interview. Marie got her shocking weight about 97 pounds which means she got underweight by not eating anything much. She had to come out with her busy schedule while getting mad from hunger.
