Every ten minutes, Meghan Markle called to yell at a royal staff member who was out to supper

It’s fair to say that Meghan Markle and the British Royal Family continue to be the subject of much debate.

There was sincere hope that Prince Harry and Meghan, together with Prince William and Kate Middleton, could become the modern-day face of the monarchy when they first started dating back in 2016.

However, time has shown that such assumptions are well off the mark. No, Harry and Meghan’s journey as a royal couple had fractures from the start, and finally those fissures grew too big and wide to be covered up.

Harry and Meghan first took a break from their royal responsibilities before abandoning the UK entirely in favour of the US. They appear to have made themselves at home there, but there is still some uncertainty around Harry’s connection with his family.

Because of Harry and Meghan’s candid interview with Oprah Winfrey last year, tensions have remained at best tense. Despite the fact that Harry has since visited England.

As a result, it makes sense that following Queen Elizabeth’s passing, attention has been focused on Harry and Meghan. The Times newspaper has published new reports that try to paint a rather unfavourable picture of Meghan. They claim that she persistently called one member of the royal household staff “every 10 minutes” while she and Harry were out to dinner.

Queen Elizabeth was so much more than only a monarch or a figurehead. She served as a symbol of the past and the present, an institution and an icon.

She held the throne of England for 70 years, which is nothing short of remarkable. The tributes that were paid to her after her death attest to both the popularity of the monarch throughout the nation and the success of her reign.

In fact, throughout the past two weeks, mourning for Queen Elizabeth has not just been limited to the Royal Family. No, millions sense her loss instead.

The Queen’s death was originally reported on Thursday of the previous week. She had been the subject of concerning claims throughout the day that she was ill, and the seriousness of the reports was proven when royals from around the UK and abroad started to go to the monarch’s Balmoral residence.

On Thursday, September 8, Buckingham Palace released the following statement:

“The Queen passed away quietly this afternoon at Balmoral. The King and the Queen Consort will spend this evening and tomorrow in Balmoral before travelling back to London.

Charles, formerly known as the Prince of Wales, is now the King of the United Kingdom and the 14 Commonwealth states. He is the eldest son and heir of the Queen.

In a statement, King Charles said, “The passing of my dear Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the deepest anguish for me and all members of my family.

“We deeply lament the loss of a beloved Mother and beloved Sovereign. I am confident that the nation, the Realms, the Commonwealth, as well as a large number of people all over the world, will be devastated by her passing.

“My family and I shall be comforted and strengthened during this season of loss and change,” King Charles continued, “by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection with which The Queen was so universally held.”

In fact, a large portion of the world observed a moment of silence on Monday to honour Queen Elizabeth as she travelled to her final resting place. The burial was attended by 2,000 individuals, many of them international leaders and other notable figures, while the Royal Family is rumoured to have held their own private service later in the day.

It should go without saying that the Queen’s burial was a lavish event that was broadcast to millions of viewers worldwide. They tuned in to commemorate the momentous occasion from every conceivable angle, and nothing was missed due to the volume of the coverage.

Harry and Meghan Markle are two people who came under intense scrutiny and have been doing so for the past few years.

Let’s just say that the couple’s relationships with the rest of the Royal Family are strained. This isn’t helped at all by the candid interview they gave to Oprah Winfrey in which they accused their son Archie of being subjected to racism and Meghan even went so far as to admit that she had considered suicide while living in England.

Harry has since returned to the UK; he attended his grandfather Prince Philip’s funeral and the unveiling of a statue honouring his late mother Princess Diana last year. However, if reports are to be believed, his once-solid relationship with Prince William has suffered.

The future will reveal whether Harry was able to mend any fences that had been broken down between him and his immediate family during his time in the UK.

When Diana’s sons met members of the public at Windsor Castle to accept flowers in memory of their grandmother, they put on a cohesive front. Furthermore, they marched behind the Queen’s casket many times while standing shoulder to shoulder.

Other sources, though, even imply that Harry might have reached out to his family in an effort to mend the damaged relationships. It should be assumed that the Duke of Sussex will speak with his father and brother while visiting the UK, albeit the outcomes of any such conversations are unlikely to be made public for some time.

In fact, King Charles is rumoured to advocate reducing the size of the monarchy, and Harry is one of the royals who may be left even more out in the cold if he does.
