Everyone’s Talking About How Well Melania Trump and Kate Middleton Actually Get Along

Remember that state visit back in September when the Trumps flew over to the UK? Yeah, the one with all the pomp and pageantry? Well, while the guys were doing the serious hand-shaking, something way more interesting was happening on the side: Melania and Kate were basically hitting it off like old friends.

The two of them spent the morning with a bunch of adorable 4- to 6-year-old Scouts (the new “Squirrels” program) doing arts and crafts and building little “bug hotels” in the gardens at Frogmore House. And the photos? Pure sunshine.

You can literally see them laughing together, crouching down with the kids, completely in the moment. Melania looked so relaxed—big smile, sleeves rolled up, totally into the finger-painting chaos. Kate, of course, was in full mum-mode, helping the little ones with their glue sticks like it was the most natural thing in the world.

A Kensington Palace insider later spilled to Hello! that the vibe was genuinely warm. “They were chatting the whole time, properly chatting, not just polite small talk. Melania was super chilled and told everyone afterwards it was the absolute highlight of the entire trip for her.”

Even CNN’s royal correspondent Max Foster weighed in, saying the Palace deliberately made sure Melania wasn’t just “the wife tagging along.” She was treated like the VIP she is, and apparently Donald noticed and loved it.

One White House source went as far as saying this little playdate could be “the start of a really warm, long-term friendship.” And honestly? I buy it. They’re both classy, both a bit private, both married to larger-than-life guys, and both seem to light up around kids.

People are already daydreaming about a joint project maybe something with Scouts on both sides of the Atlantic. I mean, Princess Catherine co-patrons the UK Scouts, so the door is wide open.

Would you love to see Kate and Melania team up again? Because I’m here for it.
