Following Rosalynn’s burial ceremony, Jimmy Carter’s grandson provides a distressing report on his condition

Wearing a dark suit and tie, Jimmy Carter made an uncommon public appearance earlier this week at the funeral service for his late, longtime wife Rosalynn Carter.

After declining more medical attention, the former president checked himself into hospice care back in February. He remained at his wife’s side during her last few hours of life until she passed away.

ATLANTA, GEORGIA – NOVEMBER 28: Former first lady Rosalynn Carter’s grandchildren look on as her casket is carried out of Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church following her tribute service on November 28, 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia. The service was attended by U.S. President Joe Biden, first lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and former first ladies Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama. Rosalynn Carter, who passed away on November 19 at the age of 96, was married to former U.S. President Jimmy Carter for 77 years. In her lifetime she was an activist and writer known to be an advocate for the elderly, affordable housing, mental health, and the protection of monarch butterflies. According to accounts, Carter was reportedly sitting in his wheelchair with his kids by his side during Rosalynn’s funeral at Atlanta’s Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church.

Before the tribute, Jason Carter, the grandson of Jimmy and Rosalynn, gave an update on his grandfather’s health and insisted that the 39th President of the United States might not be around for too long.

Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter had known each other since they were young children in the Georgian town of Plains, and they had been together almost their whole lives.

Therefore, it seemed appropriate that the two were together on Saturday, November 19, in Rosalynn’s last hours. Since the former First Lady was 96 years old, her death was not shocking, but hundreds of people have celebrated her life on Earth ever since.

Rosalynn reportedly passed away on November 19 at 2:10 p.m. in her Plains, Georgia home. The former First Lady continued to serve as a humanitarian through the Carter Centre in the years that followed her tenure in the White House with her husband from 1977 to 1981.

Regretfully, throughout the past year, Jimmy’s health and Rosalynn’s health declined. Jimmy Carter declined medical assistance for several health conditions and accepted hospice care back in February.

Now that Rosalynn is no longer with us, most people agree that Jimmy’s health could quickly deteriorate.

Before Rosalynn’s burial ceremony, his grandson Jason Carter seemed to confirm as much in an interview with the New York Post.

“He’s getting close to the end, and his physical state has greatly diminished,”

“She really was that rock for him, but he has been this moral rock for so many others.”

During the touching memorial service for Rosalynn, the couple’s daughter, Amy Carter, read a letter from Jimmy that he had sent to his wife while he was away serving in the Navy.

My sweetheart, each time I’ve been apart from you, I’ve been overjoyed to come back and see how amazing you are,” he wrote. “I fall in love all over again when I see you.”

Peace be with you, Rosalynn Carter. Let’s continue to pray for the Carter family.
