Formerly believing that he would never be able to have children, Anderson Cooper is now the delighted father of two sons

Anderson Cooper never imagined he would be able to start a family when he was younger.

The 54-year-old CNN anchor said to People, “When I was 12 years old and found out I was gay, it always upset me because I thought, ‘I will never be able to have a kid.'”

He is the proud father of two handsome sons forty years later.

Wyatt Morgan, Cooper’s first son, was born in April 2020.

Following his birth, Cooper said that Morgan was a family name that was considered for his baby’s name on his late mother Gloria Vanderbilt’s side. His kid was named after his late father, Wyatt Emory Cooper.

Cooper acknowledged on Ellen DeGeneres’ EllenTube that he bought a lot of parenting books before Wyatt was born, but he never read them.

“I received a tonne of parenting books, but I never got around to reading any of them. As it happens, you genuinely must read the books,” he remarked. “It doesn’t work to just buy the books and keep them around. Actually, you must read them.

Cooper claimed he enjoyed “everything” about parenthood even though he wasn’t sure he could handle it. He also had a lot of support, particularly from Benjamin Maisani, his ex-husband and co-parent.

Although it may seem like a strange setting, I knew he would make a fantastic father, and he does. Even though we are no longer together, we still love each other as coparents and as family.

The “unusual” family grew recently.

Sebastian Luke Maisani-Cooper is the new child that Cooper welcomed into his home, he revealed on his programme Anderson Cooper 360. Additionally, he disclosed that Maisani was in the midst of adopting Wyatt, who is currently 22 months old.

Sebastian Luke Maisani-Cooper is who I am. At delivery, he weighed 6.8 pounds and appeared healthy and content. I find his sporadic hiccups to be quite endearing. He doesn’t do much but sleep, eat, and most definitely piss, yet he already seems like a smart and considerate little man.

Calling Maisani his dearest buddy, the CNN anchor intends to raise both of his sons.

Although at first it might have been too much to bear, Cooper claimed that this time around he is “definitely calmer” as a first-time father.
