Harry’s four painful words from King Charles
King Charles and his estranged son Prince Harry haven’t had the best of relationships lately. The Duke’s departure from the royal family was one thing, but things became heated when he started disparaging his relatives in his Spare book, Netflix series, and Oprah appearance.
Harry made various allegations against his family. But what apparently infuriated Charles the most was how his son described Camilla as “dangerous” and accused her of leaking information to the media.
Even so, Harry received an invitation to the coronation of his father in May; however, that was their last interaction.
According to recent rumours, the two may be reaching a compromise as “peace talks” are about to begin. While doing so might be a way to move on, the fact that Charles’s son’s painful remarks are making headlines tells us everything we need to know.
King Charles and Prince Harry last interacted in May when the Duke accepted an invitation to Westminster Abbey for his father’s coronation. Before the coronation, there were conflicting rumours about whether he would be invited or not, and after it was announced that he would go, media speculation over what he would say, sit down, and do took centre stage.
After Harry’s book was published, Charles and Harry’s friendship hit an all-time low. And barely a few weeks later, in February, Charles made his lone known public remark regarding the book. It’s fair to say that it was a really depressing one.
During his 125th anniversary visit to the University of East London’s Stratford campus, Charles dedicated a plaque to mark the opening of the institution’s new hospital and care facility.
King Charles welcomed the pupils and well-wishers who had come to visit him as usual and spoke with them. According to Express, a man yelled, “Bring back Harry please, can you please bring him back please, Sir,” as he shook hands with one individual.
When Charles questioned who he was referring to, the stranger reiterated, “Harry, your son.”
The monarch gave a tragic four-word response.
Charles remarked, “It would be nice,” and then he continued.
Although it is well known that Harry and the royal family have a terrible relationship, the royals still hold out hope that eventually things would turn around. Now, a reconciliation might be on the horizon.
According to OK! Magazine, King Charles and Prince Harry are in constant communication regarding a meeting and restoring harmony. The magazine’s source claims that peace discussions will apparently take place in Germany on September 17 because Harry will be there at that event, which is this year’s Invictus Games.
