Here’s all you need to know about Harry and William’s ‘forgotten’ step-sister
The Royal family is so large that it’s often hard to keep track of them as some for reasons best known to them often shy away from the spotlight. One such personality is the forgotten step-sister of Harry and Williams.
Laura Hopes was born on January 1, 1978, to Camilla and Andrew Parker Bowles. The duo got married in 1973 and divorced 22 years later and in 2005 she got married to Charles.
According to some sources, Camilla’s marriage with Andrew Parker Bowles ended because of infidelity on the part of Andrew as he also had an affair with Camilla’s friends.
Her relationship after that wasn’t so great as she started having an affair with Charles who was still married to Princess Diana at that time.
Diana soon found out about the affair and told Camilla to back off.
Camilla recalled Diana saying in a tape released by The Telegraph, as quoted by Town & Country, “I know what’s going on between you and Charles and I just want you to know that. ‘You’ve got everything you ever wanted. You’ve got all the men in the world falling in love with you and you’ve got two beautiful children, what more do you want?’”
“So I said, ‘I want my husband.’ And I said, ‘I’m sorry I’m in the way and it must be hell for both of you. But I do know what’s going on. Don’t treat me like an idiot,’” Camilla explained.
Camilla divorced her husband in 1995 and Charles’s Marriage to Diana ended as well.
Laura spent some stages of her childhood with Williams and Harry and it seemed like they never get along as they were quick to throw a fist at who was the cause of their broken homes.
According to royal reporter Katie Nicholl’s book Harry and William from 2010, “William and Laura used to have terrible fights over who was to blame for their broken homes.
William would blame Camilla for all the hurt she had caused his mother, which would send Laura into a rage. Laura was not having any of it. She would take a hard line and fire back at William, ‘Your father has ruined my life.’”
Laura didn’t want a royal path and went on to school in Catholic girls boarding school in Dorset and later studying Art History and Marketing at Oxford Brookes University.
In 2005, she founded her art gallery and did great for herself.
Laura has a stepbrother, Tom and they choose to not be in the spotlight. There are speculations that Charles will be allowed to bestow some royal titles to his stepchildren during his reign and Harry and Meghan will be ditches from the Royal family.
This isn’t confirmed yet, but decisions can be taken anytime and enforced.
